Proponents of Gay Marriage are just simply Wrong and are destroying the fabric of America that we worked so hard to weave

First off, I want to give you a little background of what marriage really is. The action of marrying someone can be two separate interactions done all at once. The first is the ratification by the government that these individuals now want to be treated as one family unit. The second could be a religious or spiritual statement in front of family and friends that these individuals are going to be one family unit. The government gives authority to those who perform religious ceremonies, to also perform a legal government marriage in tandem. The knowledge of knowing there are two separate types of marriage will, hopefully, assist you in not only understanding why people who want ‘Gay Marriage’ to be ‘legal’ are completely wrong and destroying the progress we have made in this country.
Maybe you remember the Jim Crow laws of the mid 1900s, or maybe you have read about them in history books, or you have heard your family or friends talk about it. Jim Crow was a series of rigid ‘anti-black’ laws. It was a way of life for many who lived in the United States, especially around the South. Under Jim Crow, African Americans were considered and treated as members of a second class. These laws divided the United States and were, thankfully, considered unlawful. The ramifications from this period of time still rattle US citizens to this day.
Why would people of the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (Alternative) groups want to start a ‘seperate but equal’ set of laws to start being created just for them? Why should we as Americans want anything less than the best for every other American? It is astonishing to me that the LGBT (LGBTA) would want to undergo these same struggles.
As we wait for the ruling from the Supreme Court on this matter, as we sit here and contemplate what is marriage and how loving people who get married could possible harm another group of loving people who get married, as we consider whether love is universal or only accessible to a small few, as we consider… remember this… If we make ‘Gay Marriage‘ legal, we create a second class citizenship for any person who wishes to use that marriage. It will be a second class marriage and private companies and institutions (banks, insurance companies, etc) will be able to start considering what ‘type’ of marriage you have, when making their different types of judgments on you and your life.
As a country, as people who believe in the rights and freedoms of all other people. As a country that was built by people trying to find salvation from oppression. We must not allow this ‘new thing‘ called ‘Gay Marriage‘. WE MUST allow all people complete access to the same kind of marriage that ‘straight’ people have access to.
Religious groups, spiritual groups, they can regulate for their own marriage, but as far as government is concerned, equal access to all!
