I have coached people in a conversation for possibility.
These conversations are intended to assist people see or at least consider the fact that there may be something they don’t know they don’t know about one or more concerns they may have on any given subject.
A conversation for possibility is an inquiry to discover and/or perhaps create that something they don’t know.
Following a discussion I had with my 36 year old daughter, earlier this week, who called for some advise on her business, I was inspired to put down on paper how I might formalize a coaching initiative as an ongoing and dedicated venture.
My daughter commented that I am always am helpful in giving advise. There have been times when her friends and friends of my wife reach out to me for advice and coaching.
I want to distinguish between advice and coaching, however. The big distinction is advice is just that advice, coaching is advice but there is a pre-requisite. It is the “coach-ee”agrees ahead of the advice, counsel or suggestion to undertake the coaching.
Here’s my offer. I will coach you for FREE forever in a conversation for possibility.
A CONVERSATION FOR POSSIBILITY? I DON’T THINK SO.
Again, the only obligation of a “coach-ee” is he or she agrees to follow the coaching; otherwise there is no need to continue the coaching arrangement. It would be a waste of time and energy and would be counterproductive.
From time to time, I suggest “coach-ees” participate in one or more tasks, programs or ventures that could cost money. Should they decide not to participate, it will not serve as a basis for discontinuing the coaching arrangement.
I am open to my coach-ees coaching me but in this arrangement there is NO agreement on my part to entertain or take it on. ☺
No further obligation exists with the coaching arrangement “coaches” and I enter into. Also, I will not accept any monies, contribution, donation, or other compensation for the work we do.
This is entirely a FREE offer which I have been doing for years but never made public until now. There is a two-fold purpose of my doing so now.
1. I want to continue to enjoy the personal reward I get in assisting others face their challenges and achieve their goals and aspirations. I have had this experience with family members, friends and new people I have come to know.
2. I am involved in a multitude of initiatives and businesses that I will most likely share with people who work with me. In the interest of full disclosure, if a “coach-ee” decides to participate in any of them, I will likely benefit financially due to the way these businesses are structured.
