Breaking through your beliefs

Staying commited to your goals

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

So many time when we decide to embark on a new journey we are faced with countless challenges along the road to success.

However, I believe that in order to become successful you then need to set your sights on your goals. Plan your goal to the very last detail. It will nobody any good to set a goal and not sit down and work out a plan to achieve that goal.

Tony Robbins, who I believe to be one of the best success coaches,  has a concept where he explains about working out a strategy to achieve your goal. He goes on to explain that if you want to see a sunset you can not go east all the time to see the sunset. You might have the right intention in mind, but have a completely wrong strategy to achieve that goal. It will not matter how hard you try to achieve that goal of seeing the sunset while going east, it is guaranteed that you will fail with this particular strategy.
In this case you then need to completely turn your approach around. Literally change the direction you are moving in by 180 degrees.

Now how does this even relate to achieving your goal. In life there are only two directions you can move, backwards or forwards. If you find yourself that your are moving in a direction that is completely ruining your chances of ever becoming successful, your first should be to stop immediately and re-evaluate yourself. Have a close look at where you are going. If you confirm that you are definitely moving in the wrong direction, start with a new approach of changing your life. Now to change your life 180 degrees will be extremely difficult especially in the beginning. If that is the case, commit to changing your situation one day, one degree at a time. Every day do a little to improving your self and your life. Eventually in 180 days you would have completely changed your life around without even realizing it. You would not feel the difference in your daily effort immediately , but over a long period of time, you will see a complete different person from when you started.

All you need to do,is take that first step and simply commit to change your situation around one day at a time. It is ludicrous for any one to want to change their situation around in a week’s time, especially since it took such a long time to screw it up like that. What is even worst we often have no consciousness that we are headed in the wrong direction.
