Home Based Business Success Tips

There are 1001 home based business success tips but the one I’m going to share with you today is a “must do” or hang it up.  Actually, besides personal development, this IS what you need to be doing.

I love the freedom and lifestyle that the home based opportunities provide and it’s a shame that so many people quit so fast without really doing whatever it takes.

Sure it’s work.

But if you ask me, going to a job to work is much harder than taking a little time and figuring out what you need to do to be successful working for yourself, from the comfort of your home or the beaches of the world.

So, let’s get down to talking about this particular home based business success tips.

The one I’m going to share with you today is a common sense tip…

…deep down you already know…

…but lay it on the table and address it…

… it’s called your IPA’s.  This stands for “Income Producing Activities”

Income Producing Activities vs. Busy Work vs. Learning

Income producing activities are the activities you do in your business that actually bring in the money.  Yet, these are the very things that most home business entrepreneurs don’t do.

Why?

Because they don’t like them and even though they know it’s the difference between making money and not making money… there’s a stronger drive to resist pain, change and the unknown.

These are the activities that cause people to get out of their comfort zone…

…out of their lazy zone…

…and these are the things that most people are not willing to do…

…so they quit.

This is why if you’re truly seeking home based business success tips that you can take to the bank, this is it.

Let’s look at activities and see what makes you money and what doesn’t.

.

Learning:

A new home business entrepreneur will ‘get started and stay…. STAY … in the learning mode.

They watch and listen to training…. training on their products, their comp plan, the marketing materials that the company provided, they learn the fact on the company, etc.

They’ll get on webinars and conference calls, they may even get to events.  But that’s where it stops.

It will sometimes even be months later and they are still in the watching, listening, attending mode.

Now don’t get me wrong… you must do those things!  And they get an “A” for showing up for self education and taking action toward those goals.  But… these are not activities that pay the bills.

So while they are necessary, they are not the top priority.

.

Busy Work:

Along with their self education, they do things that they tell themselves are important before they start.  That’s the inner enemy keeping them from moving forward.

There’s fears, bad habits and hangups under this one.  Fear of failure, fear of success, fear of not being good enough.  Lack of focus, commitment or direction.  Bringing past failures and expectations into your business.  Not believing in yourself, your product, your company, your team.

Busy work can be cleaning the office, filling the stapler, checking the printer cartridge, organizing their online files, straightening their pens and paper clips, etc.

These are things that are procrastinators from truly getting to work.  Your boss would never approve of these things on his list to bringing in the money. If you find yourself bathed in busy work, you know it feels terrible… it puts that knot in your tummy and you know you’re not doing what you need to do.

Get to the root of problem, work on yourself and move forward at the same time.  You can do it!

.

Income Producing Activities

These are the things that bring money into the door.

If you’re in business, doesn’t it make sense to put your time, energy and effort….

… commitment, perseverance and priorities into doing the things that will make you money?

  • Talking to people about your business
  • Making videos and sharing what you’ve learned with a call to action
  • Blogging and syndicating that blog around the internet
  • Marketing your business, placing ads, etc.

A good plan of action action would be to commit to a schedule that you can keep subject to the occasional need to be flexible.  And it’s these that must get done every day.

When you are doing your IPA’s consistently over a long period of time, you will not NOT succeed.  You will have too much going for you and your marketing, your IPA’s will bring new leads, sales and recruits to your business.

Home Business Success Tip – Team Take Massive Action

Team Take Massive Action is a team in the home business arena that lives up to it’s name.  They are in the trenches everyday consistently taking massive action on the IPA’s.  That is their focus.  They support, they call people out the carpet when they whine and complain because they are a team of solution oriented, goal oriented, taking action the face of fear anyway… and they are breaking through to achieve success.

Summary

With this home business success tip, the summary is to make your income producing activities your priority.

Get them done daily.

If you only have a short window of time and you can’t get everything done on your daily ‘to do’ list for your business, then pick your IPAs and get those done.  Those come first because without IPA’s you have no business.
