Fight The Forces Of Evil
Four times a year, Empower Network hosts an event for it’s members and one of those are called Fight The forces Of Evil. I’ve been asked to speak at the next one coming up in Washington DC next month.
You know, we have many super heroes among us every day. We have our police officers, our firemen, of course our troops. I believe our teachers and social workers and pastors help us in critical ways in our lives and they too are super heroes. There are everyday people who step into the paths of those who desperately need a hand, a hug, a meal.. and these are super heroes too.
But I believe our greatest enemy… our biggest monsters, the greatest evil that we each face in life, are our own hurts, habits and hangups we all have that makes us feel smaller than we really are.
These cause us to feel ‘less than’ and to live our lives ‘less than.’
These cause us to only see the struggle and challenge in the lives we live.
These cause us to resist change in our lives mostly because we fear the unknown.
In fact, most people tend to be comfortable being miserable and mediocre. Miserable… because you know you can and should be more but you don’t do anything about it. It’s too uncomfortable to change.
Being uncomfortable shows it’s ugly head when one thinks about a possible fear of failure and fear of success which leads to hesitation when in fact, there should be a decision to move forward instead. As human beings, these are most prevalent hiccups that present themselves in our lives and it causes us to hesitate in our decision making.

Hesitation Is Sometimes Critical
.
There are times in our lives that hesitation is good and in fact critical to our survival. For example, if you are approaching railroad tracks, you want to slow down and even stop to look both ways. You check and double check that no trains are fast approaching and when you’ve determined it’s safe to cross, you do so.
I’ve found myself hesitating just prior to jumping off the ledge to zip line 200 feet above ground level.
But after the expert double checking my gear and seeing for myself that I’m latched in good, while my stomach is nonetheless full of butterflies and I’m scared stiff, I still jump.
I jump because I know it’s good for me. It’s what I REALLY want to do. I know I must jump to be able to do what I set out to do, and that’s ziplining.
These experiences help me grow in every area of my life. They give you practice about taking action in the face of fear and hesitation.
Hesitation Is Also the Key To Misery
Those who have a tendency to hesitate find themselves waiting and waiting and waiting for good things to happen. And they have a track record of not seeing a lot of good things come their way.
Well, good things do come their way but because they hesitate, they don’t grab ahold of it. Those to do see good things and opportunities all the time. They step up to the plate and hit homeruns.

What Keeps You Up At Night?
.
The greater evil is lying awake at night… tossing and turning… unable to sleep… because of the loss of control in your life.
Perhaps you think about how there’s always month at the end of the paycheck.
… maybe the car is acting up and you’re praying it stays together because the mortgage is due in a week and there’s not enough to pay a repair bill plus the mortgage.
… maybe there’s tension in your marriage or relationships because of the tight finances.
… or your child’s wedding is coming up and you promised years ago the wedding of a lifetime to them… but you have to say no and make compromises because the money just isn’t there.
… or maybe you want to send your kids to private school because the public schools are not what’s best for them.
… or your kids want to go to college and you’re struggling and heartbroken because you just don’t see a way to help them.
… or you’ve been suspecting that your going to be laid off from your job.
… or maybe that’s already happened and if you’ll just get busy and change your course of action, you could turn this around.
These are the greatest forces of evil!

3 Things To Kick Devasting Hesitation
.
It’s about sizing up the hesitation and seeing what’s causing it, understanding whether it’s a life and death situation or just internal fears of others may think or whether I want to risk disappointing myself in my decision to do or not do a thing.
#1: When you decide you’ve had enough, things will change.
When enough is enough, you will find hesitation is set aside and you will begin to take action. Most people have not had enough yet. They wallow in their misery, they like their habit of complaining about everything wrong in their life and how life has dealt them a bad hand. They hang out with others who will sympathize and they look forward to sharing their daily miseries.
#2: When you decide that you will do whatever it takes to make that change.
When you understand that change is necessary, you’ll do whatever it takes. It makes sense right? We’ve all heard the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, right?
So, we understand that in order to get a different result, we have to do something different.
#3: When you decide to take 100% responsibility and never quit.
What do people do when they fail at something? The blame something or someone else rather than looking at the mirror. Decide that you will take 100% responsibility for your actions and in actions, excuses and anything else. If you fail, it’s nobody’s fault but your own.
And… why did that fail? They QUIT!
It’s hilarious when I hear people say, ‘this business didn’t work for me.’
What didn’t work is the individual!
The individual never became an entrepreneur who understood personal development, continuing education, investing in themselves, turning the TV off and stepping up to implement and fail forward is how success is achieved.
Rather than them saying:
“I’m not cut out to be an entrepreneur and refused to do what it takes… God bless them… “
…they blame the business, or the sponsor, or the product or the pay plan or whatever else they can think of.
Make a decision that you are in this until you figure it out and enjoy the journey along the way.
When You Do What Most People Won’t Do, You’ll Have What Most People Don’t.
I believe in you.
You deserve to live the life you were born to live and on that note, I don’t believe for a second you were called to lay awake at night worring about finances and how to pay the bills. I don’t believe you were created full of dreams and aspirations, hopes and wishes but not given any way to achieve those. That would be a cruel joke.
You were created to be who you are with the dreams you have. Stop hesitating and go make them happen. You need a vehicle to get you there. Empower Network is that vehicle. You have everything you need with Empower Network to get what you want.
Watch the film …. Then…
.
I’ll see you on the other side of hesitation!
Your best life is ahead of you!
