Generate Website Traffic

Generate Website Traffic

Within internet marketing there are two primary ways to get traffic to your site. There is the organic method which means you are not paying for the traffic you receive; i.e. it comes to your site naturally. Then there is the paid traffic method where you are paying to advertise. The most effective way to build your business is by using a combination of both. Your financial situation and your need for an immediate income stream will dictate which method you may initially rely more heavily upon. As you generate website traffic, you want to ensure it is targeted to your niche.

If you are looking to generate website traffic that will sustain your business over a long period of time, you are looking at organic traffic. Organic traffic is necessary for the long term health of your business. Through targeted content blogging you have the ability to connect with your niche group of people. They can become your followers as they look for you to provide them with valuable and relevant information. To “generate website traffic” that is targeted and organic you need to acquire a few skill sets. First you need to deliver good content that provides answers to the questions people within your niche are posing. In addition, you need to understand how to make your blog visually appealing. By providing pictures or educational videos and allowing enough white space, your blog will be visually appealing and easy to read. Your writing needs to engage people so they will interact with you. By writing about what people are already talking about you increase your odds of engaging people. By engaging your readers and asking them to comment you can create more traffic to your blog.

Keyword research is an important method used to Generate Website Traffic.

Using keyword research you can identify topics for which people are searching for answers. Once your keywords are identified it’s then important to optimize and format your blog for Search Engine Optimization, SEO. This involves understanding how and where to place heading tags so they are noticed by Google. It also involves embedding a picture on your blog and giving it a name so Google will see it. Name your picture using your keywords and use an “alt tag” for identification. Your blog needs to contain sufficient keyword density that equals about 1% of the number of words in your post. You need to place your keywords in specific places within your post such as:

  • In the title
  • In the first sentence
  • In the last sentence

Once the blog is completed and optimized, it is then time for syndication. One of the best ways to generate website traffic is through social syndication. The best option is to set your blog up so that it can be syndicated automatically, through the social networks, using tools such as TribePro. This will help with achieving maximum exposure.

While you continue with your blogging approach you should also investigate the paid traffic approach. This is a quick way to generate website traffic and get profit into your business, if you currently do not have any leads. The downside to the paid method is, as soon as you stop advertising, your leads go away. In addition, since the leads are not familiar with you, there is a  need to build a relationship with them. You do this through your email auto-responder.

A couple of basic paid advertising approaches are pay per click, PPC, and Solo Ads. The first step in pay per click advertising is to find a targeted website to use for advertising. A good place to start is to use Google’s Keyword Tool. Find out how people are searching online using a keyword that is relevant to your capture page. Once you’ve identified the keywords, type them into Google and see what sites are on the first page. You want to choose an authority site, so your ad will be seen by lots of visitors. Once you’ve identified the site look for ads on the site. If it contains ads, then you know you can place one on the site. The link for advertising on a site is usually located at the bottom of the page.

Another popular method to use , to generate website traffic, is the solo ad approach of  paid advertising. This allows you to pay someone else in order to email their existing list. The ad is called solo, because your ad is the only one the recipients will see in the email that is sent to them. This method enables you to get your offer in front of thousands of people even if you do not have your own list. A few key points to keep in mind when running a solo ad are:

  • Run your solo ad with providers that are specific to your niche.
  • Create a compelling offer in your ad copy.
  • Send all leads directly to your capture page so you get email addresses.
  • Continue to follow up with your leads.

By using both methods, organic and paid, you stand to get the most targeted traffic.
