 LETS DANCE

When this video opens, it appears to be a ballet (It isn’t. )– continue watching, as many dancers from over the years appear in this video. Whoever put this together has a wonderful sense of music..

Puts a smile on your face!

enjoy….

This was forwarded to me from Joan and I was amazed at the display of dancers performing. Whoever put all these clips together and managed to get them all in time really ought to spend some more time in the fresh air. Amazing all the same. I trust the link works OK for you.

What it’s like to dance

It takes you back to some of the old time movies and even some that were only shown in black and white. Fred Astaire looks as good as he ever did:-)

Having spent some time years ago with a lady dancer I can appreciate all the hard work that goes into putting on any sort of dance routine and they have to be incredibly fit and tenacity isn’t even in it. Strange that she wasn’t really into club dancing but she could lift her leg up onto my shoulder with no trouble at all. She was originally training for ballet but due to some injury went into variety and performed all over the UK. In her early days she had to go through the toughening process of point work with all the blisters and bleeding feet that seemed par for the course in that profession.

Dance and the world dances with you.

Watching the clip I was in awe of the guys coming down the staircase and they were doing the splits after leaping over each other on the downward path of the steps. Makes your eyes water just watching it.

I can’t say that dance was ever one of the high spots of my life. Even in primary school I avoided the country dancing if possible. I was lucky during my stay there when I ended up with my leg in plaster and unable to join in with all the jollies on the dance floor:-) It wasn’t all fun though as I had to go into another classroom and learn poetry. That’s not one of my favourites either. Probably because I was forced into it. I still can’t remember what comes after “I wandered lonely as a cloud…..”

When it came to be a bit older I ventured into dance halls but at first was very shy so hung around the edges but as I grew older, we do that don’t we, I became the direct opposite and was the first on the floor even if I was on my own. Billy no mates or what!!!! We had a local disco that had a stainless steel floor that was circular and I can still remember launching myself on there doing what must now look daft. But did I care. They always finished the night with a song by a group called Focus which was “Tommy.” I only have to listen to that song and it takes me right back to those days. Trouble is I’ve still got some of the clothes that I wore in those days, especially a bright yellow pair of trousers that not long ago I got into again. Couldn’t breathe but I could do them up. Happy Days and lots more to come.
