V8 Supercars for the start of the Aussie 2013 season
As you may know I’m into car racing, most types but especially Formula One which, to me, is the pinnacle of the motor racing fraternity. I came across this clip on YouTube earlier of the Aussie supercars and although it’s a raw video gives you a look at this years cars and includes two new manufacturers for this years season.
The Formula one season starts in Australia’s Melbourne Park on March 17th this year and followed the next weekend in Malaysia. Going by the testing earlier on doesn’t really give you a clue who’s going to be quickest at the first race. All teams tend to develop their cars as the season progresses. That being said there’s not a lot of major change to the specification of the cars this year. Next year it’s all change with a reduction in cubic capacity and turbo’s.
I think the usual suspects Seb, Mark, Jenson, Fernando and even Lewis who has just changed teams to drive for Mercedes will put on a great show even if the car isn’t performing as good as he would like. Something a bit like Fernando in 2012 when his Ferrari wasn’t the quickest or most drivable of cars but his experience and pure guts got it up the rankings to finish second in the championship. No mean feat. It’s not just the supercars but the super drivers.
If you have any comments as to who will win the championship this year then leave your comments below. I’ll have to think of a prize for the winner:-) I will stick my neck out, always a dangerous thing, and say it will be a Red Bull year again but not by much. I would like to see Mark get at least one championship under his belt before he calls it a day. Adrian Newey will not doubt work his wonders again for the team.
There all supercars to me and super drivers as well.
All the cars are looking magnificent again this year and I for one am looking forward to a great start to the season. Let’s trust the mighty rainfall up near Brisbane doesn’t head South and interrupt the race although having said that it would make for a great dice.
As I say give me your comments and predictions below.
