10 World Record Breaking Concerts

I have always been fascinated with Guinness World Records books, I am not sure if any of these records got in the books. Not too sure if Guinness has any of these catagories. I am not finding the time to check it out. You see at this very moment, I am at one of the many most beautiful places on the planet, Banff, Alberta, the mountains are only three or four hours away from me and I should visit mo often. I am dreaming of returning in a few months with my horse once it warms up. First thing tomorrow I am hitting the slopes for some world class powder to thrash with my snow board, so I am creating my first infographic blog post as a time saving mechanism. I found one about record breaking gigs  from Stubhub.com I am excited to share these!

1 World Record For The Longest Concert Tour

Jared Leto and 30 Seconds to Mars played a staggering 309 concerts in nearly 60 countries accross 6 continents in less than 2 years to break this record.

2 World Record For The Fastest Concert Ticket Sell Out Time

When Stone Roses sold 220,000 tickets in 68 minutes for a concert in Manchester they secured the record breaking spot for fastest sell out time.

3 World Record For The Highest Concert

This record was broke by James Blunt circling the UK in a Boeing 767-300 ER that rose to heights of 42,080 during his 2010 performance on board.

4 World Record For The Most Atendees to a Concert

This record was broke in Cobacabana, Rio in 1994 by none other than Rod Stewart who packed in 3.5 million fans at one of the biggest concerts ever.

5 World Record For The Deepest Concert

Katie Mula’s band dove 303 meters beneath the sea of the coast of Norway to break this record back in 2006 and the y called it the Gig on the Rig.

6 World Record For The Furthest Broadcast of a Concert

Sir Paul McCartney broke this record in 2005, when he broadcast his concert from Anaheim, California all the way out to the International Space Station.

7 World Record For The Highest Grossing Concert

8 World Record For The Most Concerts in 24 Hours

This record was broken in 2012 when the Flaming Lips did 8 shows, in 8 different cities through the Mississippi Delta over a 24 hour time period. Whirlwind is a bit of an understatement this schedual is more like a tornado of activity put forth by these obviously hard working musicians.

9 World Record For Most Unused Concert Tickets

Michael Dehn bought 79,652 tickets that went to waste because of a Led Zepplin concert that was cancelled, that concert must have been a long time ago because Michael has since been able to sell the excess tickets, I am assuming as a colloector’s item.

10 World Record For The Fastest Concert

This one was not what I was expecting I thought it would be a really short concert, and how they broke this record was by flying through the concert literally. The record was broke when jazz funk band Jamiroquai performed on a Boeing 757 reaching a speed of 632 miles per hour. The band called this stunt Sony Ericsonnon’s Gig in the Sky, which was performed in 2007.
