Words – Can they shift your perception of color?

While reading this most interesting blog post this morning, my mind and body where transformed back in time to a moment in my life when I made a profound, life altering decision. At the time I made the simple decision, I had no idea how much it would change my life.

The words in the blog completely transformed my mind and body to a day way back in 1984. Yesterday I experienced a different type of feeling because of the power of words. (to read about it)

In just two days of closely paying attention to words and feels, my desire to learn and understand more has grown. I’m finding it extremely fascinating. Just wish I could spell better to express myself better, I’m getting there.

This most interesting blog post took me physically right to the moment. I could see what I was wearing, feel the damp night air of this particular evening, my body felt the slight nervousness in the pit of my stomach, yet the excitement of wanting to take the chance.

Speaking of spelling better, for the longest time I allowed my poor spelling to hold me back from taking the simple steps necessary to build my fortune online by writing a blog. Each time I would write and mess up the grammar and the spelling, I’d be taken back to my childhood remedial reading class. Having to be in this class developed in me a meaning of not being worthy enough for success all because I have a more difficult time than others mastering grammar and spelling.

Now, for some my lack of grammar and spelling does have a profound meaning of uneducated and not designed for business success. Yet for others this lack of grammar and spelling does not even come into their radar screen as having anything to do with ones ability to create business success.

Wonder why this is? Because logically, does ones spelling ability really have anything to do with business success. Could it be from the power of words they heard growing up? Assumptions made by the words and the feelings felt behind the words?

My role as a Flight Attendant requires me to allow the passengers in our First Class Cabin to deplane prior to the passengers in the Main Cabin. Because we sometimes deplane from the middle door of the aircraft,  in order to all the First Class passengers to get of first, I must block the exiting way for the passengers in the Main Cabin.

To some this means they are less than others, to others it means fantastic customer service, no matter which cabin they are sitting in.

What are your thoughts when you get to your row in a crowded aircraft and you see a baby in your row?

What are your thoughts when I ask you to turn off your electronic devices?

The truth is, any experience can mean – whatever you want it to mean.

The blog post I read this morning instructed me to pay attention to a particular color and my emotions and feelings when I saw the color.  Because my writing of this post was interrupted my a phone call from my sister, which I had to take because our busy schedules cause us to play phone tag too much, my wondering the room while talking lead me to looking out the window of my hotel room.

Across the street there is a parking lot full of cars. The most amazing thing happen to me, it seemed like the only color car my eyes focused on was the one this blog post told me to pay attention to. When I saw the car in the color, my brain went immediately back to the moment in time in 1984.
