Habits of Highly Successful People

I saw this on someone’s wall today in Facebook and it got me thinking about habits of highly successful people. Have you ever wondered if people like Donald Trump, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg watch TV in their spare time?
I believe they have a TV but do not believe they sit for hours on end watching it.
According to the New York Times, which mined data from Nielsen Research, in 2010 the average American watched 34 hours of television each week.
Highly Successful People Replace TV Habit
I’ll be real honest with you here prior to deciding I wanted to transition out of the airline industry by creating an online business, I spent a lot of time in front of the TV. My kids are grown, TheHubby keeps our home pretty picked up while I’m gone so once I did the weekly cleaning and grocery shopping, I did not have much else to do.
Because my job as a Flight Attendant has me gone all the time, I began to find myself not wanting to leave my home. I’d use the excuse I was too tired, too over exposed to people, just wanted to vegetate and chill. Over time I built up this habit of watching TV for long periods of time on my days off.
Fortunately, I woke from my zombie state and I knew I wanted to change my life. Because making a change in my financial situation required me to find some time in my day to learn the skills of highly successful people, I gave up TV cold turkey for 30 days.
To tell you the truth, it was hard to give up my friend “TV”. TV, she was my best friend, she did not talk back, she did not judge, she was not rude, she did not challenge me; but she sure did suck me into a vortex.
Commitments of Highly Successful People
Once I discovered Empower Network, learned the 8 Core Commitments, I realized I too could learn the skills of highly successful people in the online Internet/Netwok Marketing world. There are days when my friend TV calls out my name and attempts to suck me back into her time wasting zombie vortex; but I’ve committed to changing my life. Now, I schedule my TV time with TheHubby and a Netflex movie. It’s one of our ways of creating date nights.
Highly successful people in Empower Network commit to these four things daily:
- Blog
- Read & learn something new daily…..it just might give you your next blog post
- Listen to the Inner Circle and learn …… hey might be another blog post
- Market Daily – you learn how during your reading and listening time
I know I reference 8…. you will need to clink on the watch it now button above to find out what all 8 commitments are.
Our personal philosophy comes about because of thoughts and ideas formed based on information we receive and then made a decision about. We then take this information and create habits and behaviors. These habit and behaviors then form the life we have.
