How You Can Start Off To Get Enough Money
It is something that most of us do not do, especially when we do not have enough money. Take 15 minutes every day and do nothing but think. Ask yourself ” what if I had enough money?” and then, after that, write your answers without editing it at all. Just write down in point form what you would do with the money.
I did this recently and came up with 30 points of what I would do. I am not going to share all of them with you but they included
- Buy my son a guitar
- Holiday to a part of the world I have always wanted to go
- Support my favourite orphanage in my city. Those people are doing a great job
- There is someone who needs to learn how to drive but they do not have the money for it
And on and on my list goes up to 30. This can be revealing I tell you.
The list really reveals the true you.
The you that others possibly do not see.
So what if you had enough money? What would you do? Would you retire and never work again? Would you start a charity organization to support inner city homeless kids?
The answer to that question will be closely tied to who you really are. What your purpose is. Once you have formed that picture, then go to work to pursue that dream, that purpose. That is most likely who you are.
I am willing to bet that, left to yourself, you would be pursuing that purpose on and on because that will reveal your passion. Now that has always been a deadly, history-changing mixture: purpose, passion and power.
Get them all.
And get them soon.
Because pretty soon your life will be drawing to a close. We don’t live that long on this planet. You will need to have died empty and not got with your treasure to the grave.
Dr Myles Munroe points out that the grave is a rich place full of people who were afraid to step out and fulfill their God- given purpose in life. He recommends that we should die empty.
Now what does imagining you have enough money have to do with actually having enough money?
In a word
Everything.
Since I did my list of 30 points, I have a stronger motive. A stronger why to put my efforts in developing a plan and working it out on a daily basis, for me to be able to earn money.
Get the picture?
I am more focused these days…and I am seeing results. I do things with purpose.
I am focused.
So should you.
And as the money comes in, I will not wait to have all the money before the guitar is bought, or before I send my support to my favourite orphanage. I start small as I grow big.
I hope you do take your 15 minutes every day to think. It’s a powerful exercise to get into. You will be amazed what your mind will come up with…and money will no longer be an object for objection once you set up.
