It is very important that you should take a good look at who you are and what hobbies you like. The reason is that the passion you have for something will be your driving force, the fuel, if you will for you to keep going when things get tough. There are a lot of hobbies that make money for women and problems in those hobbies. Let us say that you like writing about your cooking. Do you know people who have problems with following recipes? What problems did you or do you struggle with in this area? Did you get the wrong stove for example?
The one thing I can assure you is that for every hobby that exists, there is someone who struggles in that hobby. They have a problem and they are willing to pay for the solution. Golfers want to fix their golf swing, a guitarist who can’t get the progression correct, or a parent who is having difficulties potty training their child, an actor who has stage fright, a writer who cannot set up her blog because they are technically challenged. I could go on and on.

Whatever the problem is, you can offer a solution that is very helpful for your reader. You can talk about how you improved your golf swing after taking a certain course, or learned how to get your progressions right on the guitar, or what you did to have your child potty trained or how you got around getting your blog set up and promoted in record time. You then refer your readers to a product or service you know for sure will help them solve their problem. Preferably one that you have actually used. You refer them to that product and get paid.
This is called affiliate marketing. You tell your friends where you got your hair done and they go there because they liked the way your hair was done. Same thing with affiliate marketing…except you get paid. And it is easier when done online. We have a family friend who is very good at baking. All she does is bake wedding cakes and that is how she turned her hobby into a money maker. If you ask her questions about where to get what in the area of wedding cakes, she will tell you without thinking twice. She is the expert.

The internet has made the world a smaller place. If you have online presence, you could sell your expertise globally using the internet. All you need to do is to set up your “shop” and promote it and for 24 hours every day, your shop is literary open for business…leaving you free to concentrate on what you love doing.
For most people that is the biggest hurdle they can ever face because of all the technical challenges involved.
