So What Do Your Prospects Hear From You?

How to Create Images and Feelings in Your Prospects’ Heads

As you master learning the skills of creating images and feelings in OTHER people’s heads that will help them get the result that they want, there’s an interesting thing that happens…

…you literally CAN’T do that without also creating the representations in YOUR HEAD of what YOU WANT.David Wood

My mentor David Wood has written yet another fantastic blog post on his personal blog… about paying attention to what affect your words are having on people.

Yesterday, I replied quickly to 2 emails from a friend who is also in Empower.

And without really thinking about it, I appeared rude and thoughtless to her.

Luckily, she shot back a couple of emails that gave me an opportunity to reflect on what I had said and how she had misread my real intention.

Though maybe my real intention had been to quickly deal with her emails and get on with what I was doing.. hmmm

I think I am appearing so confident and knowledgeable in all my EN marketing, my friend thinks I know more than I actually do hahaha.

Well, I rang her and patched up my mistakes.

On to other people in my life, family and close friends.

What to do with very negative relatives who keep sending scary emails about what is wrong in the world?

I want to surround myself with positive people with a wealthy mindset.

So I find I am having less and less contact with family and friends who are negative.

But that’s not the answer.. hmmmm

In his post, David talks about “internal representations”..

So what’s an internal representation?

The way you reproduce something you’re experiencing in your mind – through pictures, words, self talk, feelings, tastes, smells, and the like.

When you’re speaking with someone – EVERYTHING you are doing is creating certain images and experiences inside of the other person’s head – most of which are below your unconscious level of processing.

What you say can create images and experiences of love, power, confidence, prosperity, success, teamwork, satisfaction, and it can also create images and experiences of a whole bunch of stuff that isn’t going to help you or your prospects succeed.

There it is in a nutshell.

We need to reflect on our spoken language and body language. How do people see us, hear us?

One of the most popular morning shows on TV here in Australia is the Today Show.

I notice that the two presenters are always positive and upbeat, uplifting everyone who comes on their show.

They even give complimentary comments on baby photos sent in by viewers!

One of the presenters won the Gold Logie last year, no doubt because of his naturally cheerful demeanor and positive attitude.

How do you Appear to your Prospects?

Back to network marketing, I can feel myself gradually changing as I see mistakes others make.

I don’t want to appear fake or a liar. I just want to emphasis the positives.

David gives an example of a salesman (which all network marketers are) who goes on and on about scams he has been in!

I can feel his pain! But I really don’t want to be reminded of the scams I have been in.

That’s history, yesterday’s story of negativity, a story about how I was duped along with thousands of others.

And it’s no use telling people that they are in a scam cos they won’t listen!

Here’s what David says:

Let’s say you’ve been scammed in the past, but now you’re in the right place, at the right time, and just decided to buy something that you know is going to help you live your dream lifestyle – today.

When you think of the word ‘scam’ what kind of pictures, sounds, and feelings do you get?

Not good ones, I imagine.  Neither does anyone else.  [I actually would never even put that word in anything that I do, except I negate it immediately after with a word like ‘but’ which deletes the representation with a new model.]

Do you really want your prospects thinking about how they weren’t happy with ANY buying decision, ever, and now they’re watching your video, thinking about YOUR products, meditating with the single intention of remembering every single buying experience they’ve ever had that wasn’t wonderfully empowering?

Think about that for a second.

Powerful description of how words can really turn people off!

I want my prospects to be infected with the excitement I feel at being in the Empower Network.

I want you to have lots of success, to use all that Empower offers to change your lifestyle and skills.

And I will not attract anyone by using scary examples or having a negative outlook on life generally.

I want you to see where I am going, not where I have been.

I’ll leave you with David’s words:

Create associations with yourself that will help people GET RESULTS and CHANGE their perspective to something powerful, wonderful, and inspiring.

Pay attention now, as you decide to buy.  Realizing that you’re in the right place, at the right time – making the right decision, and leading you to places that you can’t even imagine now, although soon, you’ll see them with your own eyes, feel them with your own hands, and hear them with your ears – and I will be there, with you, congratulating you now.

As you perhaps decide to comment, focusing your energy on creating the images, sounds, feelings, tastes, and smells that you want – you’ll realize how much beauty the world has around you, and how much space there is in it for YOU to step into your power, stepping into a more beautiful future with me now.

Love,
David Wood
