If You Have one, You are Constantly Trying Ways for Marketing Your Blog.
Writing this blog post is something I must do each day as part of my commitment to my business.
Publicising it after I have written it is an IPA and vitally important to spreading the word.
What’s an IPA? I hear you ask.
There’s a fantastic audio in the Inner Circle Mastermind series where Tracey Walker talks about the importance of separating things that MUST be done from Income Producing Activities (IPAs).
After all, it’s no use writing anything if no-one is reading it.
One of my main categories is Blogging for Money and that is the purpose of my blog.
Tracey recommends that you spend one hour writing each post, have a 10 minute break, then spend another hour marketing your blog.
I have been gradually improving my blogging skills since joining Empower Network and have learned lots of methods for marketing your blog posts from the 15K Formula series.
Quite a few of my list of 10 activities are taught in these trainings.
Let me say at the outset, the top bloggers do more than me, but this list would be a great one for newcomers who are a bit overwhelmed at first.
1. Get Your Keywords – Vital to Marketing your Blog
The first thing I did was search the free Google Adwords Keyword Tool to select good keywords for this post.
I find that nearly all the keywords associated with marketing are high competition so I will not be trying to compete at that level.
I originally chose a long tail keyword – “get your blog noticed”. It has 1,900 global searches monthly with low competition.
Then I noticed that “marketing your blog” has 3,600 searches, so that’s the one I’m going with.
You will see both of these keywords in my tags at the bottom of the post, along with some other long tail keywords with low competition and more than 1,900 searches a month.
2. Have Your List of Methods for Marketing Your Blog in a handy place.
Especially when you start blogging, it is very easy to forget what you’ve done for each post.
I also keep a file of the links I use when cloaking my blog links with socialmediabar.
Another tip you might find useful is to make a “favourites” list on your browser bookmarks toolbar for links you go to after writing your posts.
3.Cloak links with Socialmediabar.com for Marketing your Blog
This is vital for posting on Facebook and Google+.
Plus as you can add an image, it makes your post super visible when sharing it.
There’s a video explaining how to do it at Socialmediabar.
The links along the top of Socialmediabar also help you to quickly post to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Stumbleupon and G+.
4. Use Buffer to Post to your Facebook Page, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
One advantage of Buffer is you can save many posts in there and program when to send them.
I don’t even use all the features of buffer – I just really love the way it makes great posts to my Facebook Page, Empowerment Zone.
5. Publish Your Post in Other Sites and Link Back.
There are so many sites you can publish to but I think the higher PageRank ones are the best.
Squidoo, Tumblr and Facebook Pages are the best choices for me.
I also have another blog I started before joining EN and copy the occasional post there as well.
6. Make a PDF of Your Blog and Post in Document Sharing Sites.
There are several ways to make a PDF of your page.
I use Printfriendly. I have a button on my toolbar but have been having problems with it lately so then I just open the Printfriendly site and post my blog url in there.
SlideShare is a fantastic PR8 site and provides great publicity for your post.
I have seen others posting the whole page of their Empower Network blog post in there, including all the banners at top and side, but I prefer to send just my post.
Here is my latest SlideShare document using this method for marketing your blog.
This is the original post on my blog where I got the PDF.
And I got the original document from an email Tony Rush sent me – I just added the picture of Elmer Fudd from Google Images.
Another good way for marketing your blog on document sharing sites is Scribd.
7. Use TribePro and Onlywire to Syndicate Your Posts
Using these two businesses, you can quickly and easily distribute each post you make to thousands of social media sites.
This is good for backlinking to your site but also for visibility on other sites.
The only drawback is that these services cost.
After posting your blog post to Twitter, you can then add your Twitter post to TribePro for syndication.
You can also add any videos you make to TribePro for syndication.
8. Add Your Post to as Many Social Media Sites as you can.
When marketing your blog, don’t forget about new sites that are hot.
One that is particularly hot at present is Pinterest. Make a few suitable boards on Pinterest.
Make sure you have at least one good pinnable picture in your post, one that is irresistable and makes people want to check it out.
Another great site I use is Scoop-it. This can also be used to post automatically to other sites as well such as FB, Tumblr, FB Page.
Make as many Scoop-it sites as you like so you can share your post to several, depending on your topic.
Both Pinterest and Scoop-it are easily shared to via toolbar links.
9. Share to LinkedIn individually
When sharing to LinkedIn, you have the ability to share to any groups you belong to and individuals at the same time.
I have just started doing this so cannot report on it’s success, but I do know I get lots of visits to my blog via LinkedIn – my Google Analytics tells me so.
10. Add Special Posts to Empire Avenue.
Use the Eaves (points) you accumulate to market your blog post in Missions.
Give specific instructions such as “like”, “leave a comment” and similar.
Some of my blog posts have 10 or more comments, mostly from EA.
Some people cheat and claim your eaves without doing anything but karma will get them :=)
There are hundreds of other methods to marketing your blog posts, but this list is a great start.
Please leave a comment suggesting other ways you use. The field of internet marketing is constantly changing and it’s sometimes hard to keep up.
Good luck with marketing your blog!
