90 Day Bible Reading Plan Challenge Notes:

Adonai (The Lord) is perfect….All his words prove true. King David (who was also a psalmist) continues in his praise to Yahweh (God).
A little bit later…..David brought harm to Israel by taking a census of the people. David repented but judgment still came as a consequence for his sin. Yahweh sent the prophet Gad to give him a message. His sin greatly displeased Yahweh and he was given 3 choices of judgment. David chose to go thru a famine because he said that it would be better to fall into the hands of an angry God instead of the hands of man. The famine lasted 3 days. It ended after David brought the threshing floor and truly repented before God.
*David is on his death bed and one of Davis sons (Adonija) tried to acquire the throne. He threw a party and everything! This act was truly premature.
Solomon was Yahweh’s chosen one to take the throne after his father David. Solomon was anointed and installed as king that day.
Adonijah begged for his life in fear that Solomon would kill him for what he had just did (assuming and installing himself as king). His brother (Solomon) let him live but told him if he made trouble……it would be his head.
Adonijah was eventually killed a short while later because of his request to marry one of King Davids women (Abishag).

Solomon’s kingdom was firmly established. Yahweh blessed Solomon with wisdom and great riches because of his heart to truly lead the people. Solomon only asked for wisdom. ……. The riches were an added bonus from Yahweh.
Yahweh asked Solomon in a dream “what do you want? Ask what you will and I will give it to you”.
Solomon asked for a wise and understanding heart so that he may govern the people and understand right from wrong. This pleased Yahweh and He gave Solomon what he asked for (wisdom) and what he did not ask for (riches and fame).

Solomon also began building the Temple for Adonai. His father (King David) could not begin the construction of the temple while he was still alive because he was a man of war….meaning that he was always doing battle and the construction of the temple could not even start until there was peace on every side. Peace did not come until King Solomon’s reign…….thus began construction.
