Why Men Lie In Relationships

Why men lie in relationships I’ll never know but I always say men are from mars and women are from venus. Although we are all human with blood, veins and bones throughout our bodies, the difference in the way the two brains think are definitely from two different worlds. I know there’s scientific evidence out of there that says the same but I’m speaking from experience.
Before I sat down to write this post, I did a little research of my own (only of a different kind) and in my search, I came across something that was written by men. My thought was let me see what they have to say about why men lie in relationships. So I went to the website and this is the first paragraph of the article:
“No matter what you preach, sometimes you just gotta lie. For better or worse, it is a fundamental part of our lives that may not be moral, but still remains. There are many, many different cases in life where telling your woman the truth only gets you into trouble. But if you could somehow manage to say something that doesn’t hurt her, you’re in the clear. Hey, it’s better than revealing what you really did last night.”
Ok….so in the second sentence, he was at least truthful….the fact that the lie is not moral but still they do it. But the rest of it just doesn’t work for me. Needless to say, after reading the second paragraph (I wanted to see how he would follow that up) I was done….lol. You can continue reading the article here if you’d like.
For me right now, there’s a situation going on in my relationship that has me asking why men lie in relationships, which is why I decided to do this post. It was evident all over my face apparently because I had someone who saw me outside come over and give me a hug before she went back into the building. I was just standing there but I guess whatever I was thinking was showing. I never could do the #pokerface thing…lol. I’ve got time invested in this relationship and I love this man but this could potentially be a deal breaker. Surely can’t hide that if you don’t have a poker face : )
Speaking from experience, I’ve found that it’s not a matter of whether you have a “good” man or not. Every woman has her own definition of her “good” man. Although women do share some common traits (like when we get quiet, you better get ready), we are not all the same. And…in their defense, not all men are the same. However, ALL men lie in relationships; not all women do.
Being honest, I know a few women who do (we all probably do) and I can tell you they are much better at it than men are. They think the lie through before they tell it, think about potential consequences and make a decision from there. Men don’t do that. They just let it flow when they feel the time is right and maybe, think about how to respond if asked about it within a certain time frame. But….men can’t keep up with their lies. Over time, in different conversations, the truth gets revealed and they don’t even realize they told you. Just tell the truth from the beginning; it’s so much easier.
Fellas, if you’re reading this, know that if your woman is really paying attention to you, she already knows that you’re lying. She recognizes the little gestures you make when you tell her a lie. You’re not as slick as you think you are 🙂 😉 That is, if she’s really paying attention to you.
At the end of the day, I still don’t know why men lie in relationships and I probably never will. What I do know is what I’m not going to do is spend time worrying about it. If you do any personal self development, you’ve probably heard the phrase ‘worry is a down payment on something that probably will never happen’. It took me a minute today but once I got that back into my head, the brain fog lifted. I put my head back in Awaken The Giant, my current read and I’m good to go.

Yes we always know ad they always have to learn the hard way– I’ll always ask my husband about something I already know the answer to and have caught him in a few lies– not bad ones (pointless lies actually)… He knows better now.
Because when it comes down to it– all we want is the truth.
They lie– it makes us mad– they say we’re crazy— Ummm excuse me?!? We’re crazy? No you’re crazy for lying— Don’t turn this on us.
MAN UP! 😀 ;-D

I am not sure as a guy that I should be commenting on this post but I will anyway. Sounds like you are might be in a bit of a dark place. I tend to think that a liar is a liar and someone who tells the truth is just that. I hope you find the answers you are looking for.
All comments are welcome Craig….good, bad or indifferent. And just for the record, I’m definitely NOT in a dark place. Happiness is an INSIDE job 🙂
