Acne, zits, wounds or certain skin diseases can leave behind awkward scars on your skin which make your skin look ugly and awful. Besides scars on other body parts, facial scars are one of the most embarrassing ones. However, scars are not incurable. Listed here are 3 easy steps through which you can get rid of your scars, be it old or new, without any side-effects.

1. Use sunscreen and if possible cover the scar

If your scar is new, for example a month old, then it is very important for you to prevent it from getting exposed to sunlight. The harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun can cause hyper-pigmentation which will further worsen the condition. So, before stepping out on a sunny day, make sure that you cover your scar with a good quality sunscreen.

2. Massage daily

Massaging you scar daily will help in speedy and effective recovery. Moreover, massaging your scar will also prevent the formation and build up of new scar tissues and also help soften old ones. It is considered as one of the most quick, easy and effective ways of getting rid of scars formed as a result of accidents or surgeries. For more effective results, massage the scar with a moisturizer as it will help in increasing the blood flow in the affected area and also increase the production of collagen, thereby speeding up the healing process.

3. Use lemon juice to exfoliate the scar

Lemon juice is well known for its natural exfoliating qualities. Throughout history, it has been used for treating and removing scars. Lemon juice contains high amount of citric acid which can exfoliate your skin effectively. In case of a scar, the citric acid helps in removing the upper and the damaged skin layers in order to make way for new and healthy skin. Furthermore, lemon juice also helps in flattening and softening the hard tissues which forms scars and hence, facilitates its removal. Rubbing lemon juice over the scar every day is a very healthy process. Besides removing the scar, it will also make your skin look brighter and healthier.
