Stay at Home Dads Jobs – The struggle

Single parenthood can change the most seasoned professional and causing them  to struggle and become unbalance.  I have a TOTAL new respect for single parents and stay at home dads.

My transition from Corporate America  to a single parent put me in the same  situation searching for a stay at home dads jobs.

I went from a career management of INC 500/Fortune 100 companies making 6 figures to a 46  years old, single parent of a 1 year old little girl, with minimal income for the first time in my life  I was trying to figure how I was going to pull this off.  There was no more funds because of the The Recession and being laid off.  I have heard through past dicussions of the the struggling stay at home dads jobs.  Now I am in the same vote except I am Dad.

Stay at Home Dads Jobs – The Situation

  • Feeling like  I need to be more available to my children because they seem to do better when they parents are around.
  • I had to work around my daughter’s schedule and my son’s visiting schedule.
  • I had very little support from friends or family because I live out-of-state. Trying to stay close to my 10 years son and my family are scatter all over the global.
  • I am making one-third the paid I use to, which by itself opened a can a worms which we were not prepared to deal with.
  • My old peers could not understand why I could not be available like before.  Which was professionally crippling. As a Information Technology Professional,  employers expect  you to be available  at any given time.  Try doing that with a one year old.
  • No days off. None!  (If you are a single parent, you know what I am talking about.)
  • Dealing with my our identity issues and having trouble settling into this new role.
  • No time to yourself for personal growth and get your mind in check. (Yep, I  am guy and I said it.)
  • Oh and needing a stay at home dads jobs too as a Dad.  To quote George Clooney character in the The Descendants:  “I’m the back-up parent, the understudy,” explains George Clooney’s complacent family man and workaholic Hawaiian lawyer.

Stay at Home Dads Jobs – How do I  remedy this issue?

  • I have to move to a place which offers the  support for single parents.
  • I need to find a business I can work from home.
  • I had to find something which is conducive to a single parents life.
  • I had to re-establish my identity.
  • I need to find the potential off making the money my family was accustom too.

Stay at Home Dads Jobs – I found several solutions which works for me. After many hours of research these are  two of the six opportunities which I find perfect  for me as a single parent.
