When Is The Best Time To Post On Facebook And Other Social Media?
If you do a little bit of research on this topic, you will quickly realize that there is not a definite answer. Posting on Facebook and other Social Media Networks all depends on what type of audience you are engaging and what marketing you are targeting. I’ve heard a variety of opinions on this subject and I have my own opinion as well. So, I decided to look into it for you.
The most important thing to remember when posting anything is to post quality content! You want to engage your readers and keep them interested. The worst thing you can do is just post without a purpose. You can ask yourself, are my Facebook fans enjoying my post? Are they responding?
Obviously, if you read any of my posts, you will see that I’m an online marketer. This means that my Facebook posts need to be focused on the web marketing industry. I promote products, encourage people, educate my readers, and post my blogs on a daily basis. I also like to be open with my readers and engage in current activities. My main goal with my posts is to provide value and solve problems for my audience. This is how I keep them engaged and coming back.
How To Determine The Best Time To Post On Facebook For Your Business
Understand Your Fans
Studies show that Facebook Posts receives half of its reach within 30 minutes. So you want to post your content when your target audience is actually on Facebook and then schedule your posts around that time.
Step 1: Who Is Your Audience?
You can figure this out by looking into your Facebook demographics. You might be surprised to find they may be different than you think. To do this, check on the age and gender ranges in your Facebook Insights, which is found at the top of your Facebook Fanpage. You should also check on the location of your fans since they might be spread all over the globe in various time zones.
Step: 2: Think About What Type Of Day Your Audience Is Having
Once you’ve figured out the demographic in your readers, then you can decipher what their day may be like. Do you have work at home moms in the audience? College students? Regular 8-5 workers? Each of these elements will further determine the best time to post of Facebook.
Step 3: Use What You Already Know
Use the information you now have about your audience to post effectively. The more you get to know your fans, the more you will understand when they are online. These statistics might also help provide more insight about posting best practices.
Understand Your Facebook Usage Statistics
There are a lot of great mobile devices out there today that help people stay connected to their Facebook and Social Media Networks. In fact, there are more than 750 million active monthly mobile users! I have a Smartphone and my husband has a HTC, so both of us are really connected to all of our networks. I’d have to say that I spend more time checking my email, Facebook, Twitter, and other websites on my Smartphone than I ever did before I had it. Smartphone users spend more time checking Facebook on their mobile device than using Google.
It’s a fact that 80% of people ages 18-45 actually check their Smartphones as soon as they are awake enough! I’m totally guilty of that! So, I think it’s safe to say that your Facebook fans are going to be checking their newsfeeds as soon as their day starts. The morning is a great time to post on Facebook. A good time frame to start with would be between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. You can test it out and then watch your Facebook insights to see how it goes.
Lunch time is another optimal time to post on social media networks. Some mobile users even check their device while watching TV during commercials. Weekends also bring in a lot of great posting time since most mobile users spend almost double the amount of time on their device as they do during the week. Keep in mind, however, that newsfeed competition is higher both on weekends and weekdays between the hours of 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. During those hours you are more likely to be competing with hundreds of other friends and fans your audience is following.
