If You Can’t Do It, You Won’t Do It

My mother always told me that if you say you can’t do it, then you’ll be right.

This applies to every aspect of life.  It’s not just about your business or your job–it encompasses every aspect of your life.

I came across a Tony Robbins video that you have to see.  There is so much energy that emanates through the screen.  He is talking with the legendary Frank Kerns, along with John Reece, who had a million dollar day.  The main topic was on what makes people succeed to the point that nothing can deter them and why 99% of the people in internet marketing DON’T make it.  It’s a troubling issue that these three guys shed light on.

That’s amazingly exciting stuff!  I can relate to his talk because I LOVE SPORTS!  I’m was a huge fan of Agassi and if Tony Robbins can help Agassi, I’m pretty sure his teachings can rub off on anyone.

So here’s my quick story…

Today I was playing tennis with a friend who makes a lot of excuses.  It was a beautiful day here in Boston.  The first thing he said was…

Today is perfect.  It’s perfect tennis weather.  There is no wind, the sun isn’t beating down on me.  It’s just perfect.

This statement was the equivalent of bad voodoo.  My friend is an excuse artist and will find anyway possible to say Mother Nature doesn’t let me play tennis the way I want to.  It affects his game to the point that his body language is that of a 8-year old being told to go into the corner.

Thirty minutes into our hitting session, the wind picks up.

And the sun comes out.

And he starts slumping.

His mindset totally changed and he was spraying balls everywhere but in the court.  Before the wind, he was performing fine.  He had control of his shot-making, and he was happy.  He didn’t have the belief that his game could be executed in other conditions but perfect conditions.  Does this sound like you?

If you say you can’t do it, you’re probably right.

So you’ve tried every internet marketing scheme out there.  Instead of saying it doesn’t work, envision it will work.  Or possibly, start with a BIG why.  If you’re sick and tired of working a job or you need to finance other parts of your life, that may be your why.  But make it BIG and STRONG.
