Facebook Has Added 60 New Apps
If you are using the new app, Spotify on Facebook, you now have the use of sixty of other apps that facebook just added. Now you can share more than just your location and music tastes with Facebook apps. Facebook unveiled their Open Graph platform at the f8 conference last September. The new apps will give users a way to share more than just “likes.”
On Wednesday Facebook announced 60 new apps that you can add to your timeline. Until now there have only been a small selection of apps which were integrated with Facebook’s Open Graph — Spotify, Foursquare, Washington Post’s Social Reader. The new set of apps allows users share many more events with their Facebook friends — like entertainment, social causes, shopping and fashion — creating a more social and mobile timeline profile.
Apps bring Your Timeline to Life
Facebook says: “Add apps to your Timeline to express who you are – a runner, foodie, traveler, music fan, movie buff and more…
Facebook’s new Open Graph platform will allow you to share using any of these apps and when you allow it to be shared, it becomes part of your Timeline profile, as well as posts to your news feed. Also, what you share will linger on your timeline profile and not be pushed down in the feed the next time you post something.
