As home schooling parents we are asked a lot of questions about why we do and different things like that, mostly because we’re from a small southern area where it’s not common to do so. Since relocating to Atlanta the past few years, we have met many like minded individuals who home school their children and or at least knows someone who does. Now one of the main questions we’ve been asked about is what about the child’s social life and honestly being home schooled doesn’t affect a child’s social skills as much as people would think that they do. Let’s not forget that there are many different ways for children to interact socially, such as other activities such as dance, ballet, martial arts etc; schools aren’t the only place for children to be social. Studies show that these children aren’t “suffering” because they are being home schooled, and this is according to accurate home schooling statistics.
