School’s out for summer, and vacation time is rolling around for a lot of families. Do nothave the big budget for this year, try doing more mini vacations. Mini vacations can be spread around the out the summer, and will not use as much of your vacation time from work. Mini vacations just means taking a day off, and doing something from the norm. It could be as simple as going to a water park. The mini still provides the time off from the day to day routine, and the fun that we need to incorporate into our lives.
I have a friend, who went on expensive vacations, and she said the best time they ever had on a vacation was to go the Dells in Wisconsin. The Dells offers many different water parks. As a family, you could get a membership to a local pool, and consider that part of your vacation expense. A lot of pool facilities have water slides, lazy rivers, and are just a great time. Your children could go any day they want, if you get a membership.
Try taking a day off and take your children to a ball game. Your kids will enjoy spending the time with you, watching the game, and eating hot dogs and ice cream. Another mini vacation day, could be going to lunch and a movie. There are probably even some free places to go in your town. My library had the reptile guy come and give a show. It was very entertaining!
If you really think about it, you could come up with some ideas, that will not cost you a lot of money. Take a weekend night, and camp out in your backyard. You can roast marsh mellows, tell scary stories, and have the kids invite a friend or two. If you have a camper, you could take off for a few days, find a nice campground, and enjoy yourselves for a few days. If you put a little thought and some creation, you will come up with some great ideas that your family will enjoy!
If you want to make it a more official type of vacation, find a hotel deal, and book it for a few days. Kick back and relax with your kids by the pool, and just enjoy each others company. Because that is what it is about, when schools out for summer, is to just enjoy each others company. Mini vacations allow your family to connect with one another and just have some fun. If you take the time to think about it, you could come up with some fun plans for your family’s vacation, without spending too much money.
