How to Get Traffic to You

Rush hour traffic is something we try to avoid. The other kind of traffic, though, we can’t get enough of. We always welcome attention on Facebook, Twitter, and our own websites (thank you for being here), but sadly, getting our own traffic doesn’t happen immediately. This doesn’t mean you can’t speed these things up. I just finished another Empower video training, and I’ve been doing some research, so here’s some advice I gathered!

Social Media

• Twitter:
  1. Have a relevant photo and a detailed bio with your website.
  2. Tweet quality tweets and change it up between text, photos, and video links
  3. Post at least (but preferably more) twice
  4. Follow back people who follow yours, in addition to venturing out and following people first
  6. Send a direct message (DM) invitations to new followers and offer them something (ebook perhaps)
• Facebook
  1. Friend and follow people in your niche.
  2. Tell your friends about your business/blog/website and ask them to share your stuff if they love you.
  3. Boost your posts! You can do that!
  4. Offer guest posts to other bloggers. Find them through Facebook search!
  5. Advertise. Don’t rule this option out!

Your Blog/Website

• SEO. You can’t ignore this no matter what. It’s how search engines know that you exist.
• Make your posts easy on the eyes by bolding and italicizing words, putting in photos, and including videos.
• Offer something free. Ebooks are wonderful options, and some other bloggers in your niche might let you borrow theirs.

I really hope you got something from this little collection of tips! I’m still learning, and the most effective way to learn is to demonstrate your new knowledge to other people. Teachers learn more than their students, I assure you.
