I am sure Chicago has seen its share of storms, but I am not sure anything will prepare them for what is about to happen this weekend.
Why?
In 3 days, 5,500 Empower Network affiliates will be storming Chicago for the “Get Money” event.
And you can say right now we are in the Calm before the Storm.
The Empower Network leaders are arriving as we speak.
Last minute details are being finalized.
Travel plans are made.
And the BIGGEST ‘live’ event in Empower Network’s history is about to take place.
And what does that mean for you?
Good question.
Let me try to put this into perspective.
I use this time to plan for the event, mentally.
I call it the Calm before the storm, and for me…
…it is about getting my mindset right.
This will be my third Empower Network event, and I know what to expect now.
I am a rookie, no more.
And for me, I want to set clear intentions, for what this event will be for me.
I want to know what I am going to bring back to my team?
What can I learn to be a better leader?
And this small window of time, a few days before the event…
…the calm before the storm, if you want to call it that…
is the perfect time to do just that.
What is the calm before the storm and how does it apply to an Empower Network event?
This time, is as important as the event itself.
During this stage, you have to set your intentions, plan your next few days, and be ready to go.
And the calm before the storm allows me to schedule, in my head, what I want to accomplish.
Who do I want to meet?
Who am I going to seek out and get a picture with?
Or an interview with?
What videos am I going to take?
What burning questions do I want answered?
This is the time to do all that.
Without a plan we are lost.
These next few days I need to remove all distractions and…
Focus.
Focus.
Focus.
That is what the calm before the storm means to me.
Getting my mind focused.
The Calm before the storm is essential for maximizing your experience at the Empower Network Chicago Event
One thing you can’t plan for is the pace of an event.
They are fast.
There is a lot going on.
My first event in San Diego, I was as green as green can be.
It was a whirlwind.
I was not mentally prepared, and even though I got a lot out of it, I probably did not maximize my experience.
Austin and the “Release Your Inner Badass” event was different.
I had a clear intention and a plan of action.
And I executed my plan.
And as I look forward to “Get Money” in Chicago, because I have a clear intention of what I want to accomplish.
And if I could offer any words of wisdom to someone new, or someone getting ready to attend their very first Empower Network event, I would offer this…
…Set a clear intention
…Remove all distractions
….and Take Massive Action
It is not unlike what we do everyday, anyway.
I heard team mate Susan Bachelder say yesterday on a Hangout “you must engage at an event.”
I am paraphrasing (hope I got that right Susan).
But she is absolutely correct.
You must engage, and be active.
This is not the time to be timid.
You have to ‘step outside your comfort zone’ and get what you need.
For 3 days you have access to the top earners in network marketing.
Meet them, engage with them, learn from them.
You will know when the calm before the storm is over, because there will be an army of badasses storming the windy city.
And YOU will be one of them.
