These were some of the themes that Kerri Shafer and I discussed, when we sat down with Team Alex and Erica member Debbie Hoover.
Debbie is the perfect example of someone having courage and determination.
She has made amazing strides inside of Empower Network since she arrived.
And she is an amazing part of our team.
Demonstrating Courage and Determination while stepping outside your comfort zone.
One of the best moments inside the above Google Hangout, was when Kerri asks Debbie about the video she made for Team Alex and Erica.
Debbie shot a video singing “You Light up my Life” by Debbie Boone.
And that was a courageous example of overcoming one’s fears.

Have you stepped outside your comfort zone?
Courage is ‘simply’ overcoming fear.
And that is Debbie does in this video.
And true growth takes place when you are outside your comfort zone.
Growth inside your business and life comes when you face situations that cause courage and determination.
I see courage and determination when I see Debbie Hoover operate her business.
She is a full time traveling nurse, doing shift work.
She also mentions she is in the middle of a move that also is occupying her time, energy, and resources.
And yet, she still is building her Empower Network business.
And the reason is she has a strong WHY.
Debbie Hoover is a dog sled owner and operator and has a bunch of dogs that are her passion and calling.
And her true passion and purpose is to be able to spend more time caring for her dogs.
And with Empower Network she has found the vehicle to help her reach those dreams.
What an amazing example of Courage and Determination.
So what examples of Courage and Determination have you shown in your life?
For me, finding courage and determination, in my life, continues to be a work in progress.
Like Debbie Hoover, and anyone else for that matter, there are constant obstacles to overcome.
And I have days where I win those battles.
And days when I don’t.
But the one thing I will say is that I have learned a great deal about myself in these last 8 months.
I have surrounded myself with courageous women like Debbie Hoover and Kerri Shafer.
It started when I made a decision and took action about the direction I wanted to take my life in.
It was Empowering…
…Because I took control of my life and my life was no longer going to control me.
Having courage and determination comes from within, but they are traits that have to be developed.
It is like getting is shape.
You have to exercise every day and eat right.
