If You Had A Choice Between Marriage And Divorce Is It Really A Choice Or A Decision

You know when conversations come up about Marriage and Divorce, I always think back to when my parents got a divorce when I was a teenager. It had to be one of the worst times in my life, and a definite life changer for sure. I hope it isn’t true, but I’m sure there are many out there that have gone through the same thing.

I was one of those naive kids that thought a divorce in my family would never happen. I was seeing my friends parents going through them, and thought how sad it was for my friends for this to happen. I swear it wasn’t that much longer when the divorce bug hit my parents too. Talk about being blind sided, I was floored. The worst part about it was my father was the one who left us high and dry.

I needs to be known that when the topic of Marriage and Divorce comes into play, it just isn’t about the parents. It is totally about the kids too. Being a young boy having your father who you looked up to leave you, and in my case like I am sure with many other young kids. Leaving without saying goodbye, it is devastating and a heart breaker.

Now, when I hear people talk about Marriage and Divorce, I think of my wife and commitment for one, and also of it never ever going to happen as long as I am alive. I really feel for my co-workers at the job I work at that are going through some tough times right now in their relationships, and contemplating Divorce. I know them and their spouses, and I know they have children.

What I don’t understand is how something that is suppose to be so sacred between two people, could go so wrong that the words Marriage and Divorce can come out in the same sentence. Maybe it’s because my wife and I don’t ever really have problems big enough to ever think about anything other than agreeing to disagree.

I don’t know, that is just the way it seems to me, and speaking to my wife, that is her same feeling. It really is sad of how many people I know that have gone through a Marriage and Divorce more then once. You would think that they would have a better understanding of what went wrong the last time, and made the necessary corrections within themselves to assure that it doesn’t happen again.
