Toblerone Traffik
The more I learn about human traffiking and modern day slavery the more I feel compelled to take action.
I subscribe to a charity mailing list called Stop The Traffik where I get regular updates on the work they are doing to stop human traffiking across the world.

Recently, one of their newsletters left me very disappointed when I discovered one of my favourite chocolate bars Toblerone is made with chocolate from children who are traffiked.
So Kraft are the chocolate giant behind Toblerone and apparently they are the world’s largest buyer of cocoa. However, they source their cocoa from The Ivory Coast in West Africa which happens to be where the worst form of child labour and child traffiking have been reported.
I know, if you’re a chocolate lover like me, this article may not be helpful as it may serve as more of an advert for Toblerone then a deterrent. But I would urge you to join and support the cause by not only boycotting Toblerone but also by spreading the word.
If you really want to take action you could visit the Stop The Traffik website and see what they are doing to challenge Kraft on this unethical behaviour.
It disgusts me that these big companies can be so hell-bent on making profits that they will ignore the more pressing issues of humanity.
I for one, as much as I love Toblerone will refuse to buy it any more until I know that Kraft are changing their actions.
Even as Christmas approaches rapidly, my mind always flits to being at my in-laws. For as long as I can remember my father-in-law has had a large bar of Toblerone given to him which I tend to partake of.
This year I will be urging all my family to steer clear of buying into traffiked chocolate.
I would ask you to think about this and if you are a Toblerone lover please do your part to support the cause and stop this injustice. The more voices that Kraft hears the more urged they will be to change their ways.
