The Buffet Rule

The Buffet Rule a.k.a. The Reagan Rule

So today is Tax Day. Where millions of Americans are scambling to get them filed in time and where probably an equal amount are filing for an extention. That got me thinking about who’s saying what about taxes since we are fairly close to election time. To be honest with you I haven’t been watching much news lately since it’s nothing but negative stuff on there, but I did hear something about President Obama talking about this “Buffet Rule“. So I decided to look in to it. Man, do I have some reading to do. I’d like to consider myself more of Libertarian more than a Republican, so naturally I’m more of a END THE FED kind of guy. I’m going to attempt to approach this in a neurtral state of mind while I look further in to it.

In the mean time, I wanted to link up what’s being said in the blogosphere and wanted to hear what you guys are thinking about all this. So here are the snippets;

Warren Buffett smiles at the New York Stock Exchange before ringing the opening bell on Sept. 30, 2011. The Bufett rule was inspired by his call to tax the rich more.

It’s almost tax day, which means that most people have by now seen just exactly how much of our hard-earned money will being going to Uncle Sam this year.

You might have noticed that we’re also hearing a lot more about the so-called Buffett rule.

The White House has been making a hard push for the rule, officially called the Paying a Fair Share Act of 2012. The Senate is scheduled to resume consideration of the bill Monday.

As the Senate considers President Obama’s “Buffett rule” to require that millionaires and billionaires pay at least 30% income tax, a new poll suggests the proposal is quite popular with the American public.

Nearly three-quarters – 72% –  of Americans say they support the idea, according to a CNN survey of 1,015 Americans, including 910 registered voters….More at Polls: Americans divided over taxes but support ‘Buffett Rule’ – Los Angeles Times
