Niamh

Nobody warns you that you can be reading about buying decisions at eleven at night and be back on potty training by seven the next morning. Niamh writes both, on the same blog, without treating either as the embarrassing half.

The parenting posts are properly useful. Whether training pants with wetness indicators actually do anything. How to get through Disneyland without a tantrum and without the guilt afterwards. What drowning really looks like, which is nothing like the thrashing you are watching for.

The marketing writing comes from the same instinct, which is suspicion of anything too polished. She argues at length that amateur blogs sell better than sales pages, that sites showing off the good life quietly wrecked internet marketing, and that people decide to join a person rather than an opportunity.

Books thread through everything. She keeps a fifty book challenge with the finished list up to date, names four obscure titles that changed how she sees the world, and gives The Alchemist a more honest reading than it usually gets.

Start with the decision factor posts if you are selling anything at all, and with the parenting ones if you are trying to do this around small children.
