Should You Pay for a Blog?

Maybe you’ve come across this blog post today because you are considering starting a blog. Maybe you have a blog, but you are not getting the results you had hoped for. Or maybe you’re where I was, in the process of setting up a free blog or a paying blog that was so difficult that you wanted to throw in the towel.

If you are using a free platform, please save yourself a lot of time, money and frustration by reading this post. In this post I am going to list valid reasons why you should pay for your blog hosting versus using free hosting.

I have had experience with both, and for me, it was a no-brainer which way I would recommend setting a blog. Here’s why you should use a paid platform like this instead of a free platform:

• When you set up free blog hosting, your domain will have no credibility with Google. YouTube is owned by Google. I would highly recommend having credibility with Google. 🙂
• If you are planning on monetizing your blog with some type of offer, it will take a whole lot longer to have any type of conversions with a free blog.
• When you use a free blog , because you have no credibility with Google, you will not see any free traffic for a long time.
• An established domain is more likely to have numerous back links attached to it every day, opposed to a new domain.  If the new domain uses the same strategies as an established domain, it will look unnatural and will not be recognized by Google.
• The exact same content will rank completely different on a new blog versus an established, paid domain.
• You will have to spend hours upon hours trying to figure out the process of getting organic traffic to your blog to get close to the results of a paid domain.
• You will have to purchase some type of automation tool in order to get organic traffic to your blog. You will likely end up paying much more than what I paid for this domain.
• The free domains will have low reputations when it comes to their IP addresses, which will affect your rankings with Google. The network hosting that I use on the other hand, is a high-quality hosting, having an established domain of over 13 years old.
• Both paid and free traffic require high quality hosting. When you are getting your domain free, you are sharing The server with many other websites. It is much more likely you will see server outages because of the activities they are involved in.
• These free hosting companies can force you to upgrade at any time. After all of your time and money spent, you’re still paying for your blog once it start getting a high amount of traffic. It will be very disappointing when your ‘free’ hosting starts to bring in significant traffic, then all of a sudden, you are referred your original terms of agreement.
• “Free” means the hosting company can pull you down if they don’t like what you’re saying. When your blog is established and has gained a lot of followers, that hosting company can pull down your entire blog. Just. Like. That. 🙁
• my company offers free sales finals and advanced training, and has the potential for 100% product commissions, most other affiliate of hers only offer 2%-50%.

I spent MONTHS attempting to set up a blog from a paid training that I had purchased. It was so frustrating, every time I turned around, I was spending more money on another thing that the “free” hosting platform didn’t include.
