Paulo Sousa

A resolution announced at a party rarely survives February, and Paulo Sousa separates that from the other thing, the quiet decision you never mentioned to anybody and simply carried out. He goes to the dictionary for it, which sounds pedantic until you notice how differently the two states actually feel.

The second post is a checklist for anybody about to sign up with a company, and it is written by somebody who has watched several disappear. He starts with ownership and vision, because a founder interested in a quick return leaves representatives holding nothing, and tells you to ask direct questions, listen to the calls and turn up to an event before committing.

Two posts, both short, both aimed at a decision rather than a technique.

Read the checklist before you agree to anything, and the goals one on the evening you catch yourself announcing something instead of doing it.
