A not to do list beats a to do list for most people, and the strongest post on this blog does exactly that. Darrell Martin lists eight habits to promise yourself you will avoid, beginning with waiting until you are certain something will work, which is the one that keeps most projects in a drawer indefinitely.
The companion piece is about what nobody tells you before you start working for yourself. You will not know what you are doing, plans will fail, and the tiredness is different from the tiredness of a job. He is clear that this happens to everybody and unclear about whether that helps.
Then the blog changes character entirely. There is a careful explanation of a studio rights agreement over a comic book character, written for fans who wanted to know exactly what had and had not changed.
There is also a short piece on meditation and what it altered for him.
Five posts. The not to do list is the one to print.
