Incentives are a great way to improve output. Sure, you pay them to do their jobs, but a little extra motivation doesn’t hurt anything. Recognize when your employees perform exceptionally well, and reward them with a gift or bonus. Great leaders never skimp in this area.

Know how to write things in an effective way. Leadership doesn’t just mean that you should follow a vision and that’s it. Learn how to present yourself as a leader with the way you write. If you write sloppy or have lots of misspellings and poor grammar, it’s hard for others to take their leader seriously. Take the time to read what you send to other before you press the submit button or sending something through the mail.

If you wish to be a leader, act like one. Know what people expect from leaders, and let that be your goal. Dress the part, speak eloquently, and treat your superiors with the respect they deserve. Always put forth that extra effort, even when it seems futile. When you do, it shows you have the drive and work ethic to be a real leader.

A good leader will offer support to employees every day.
