Network Marketing Is Not a Job

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

Many people who get into network marketing treat it the same way that they do with their regular job: the fact is that…

Network Marketing Is Not a Job.

One reason this is true is because you don’t have a boss to tell you what to do, how to do it, and when to get it done.  You are the boss!

Network marketing is your business.

If you’re just getting started, and know nothing about network marketing and using the internet, then you’ve got a lot of work ahead of you.  In short, you are starting your business not working a job.  Not only are you the boss, but you will need to take massive action in getting the training you need to get your business started and thriving.  And you will need to continue that massive action and hard work to continue building your business after you’ve started it successfully.

Usually, you upline is responsible for making sure you get the training you need as well as helping you get your business up and running.  However, be aware that your upline may or may not give you the training and help that you need.  If your upline fails to give you the training and help you need, then you will have to get it somewhere else.

It is always a good practice to be sure that the network marketing company you have joined will provide the training and help you need via videos, audio tapes, books, other distributor leaders, and support groups through the internet as well as company events either regionally, nationally or both.  So, be certain when you join a network marketing company that they offer training through all of the media as well as through the support of other distributors and leaders as well as sources available to you through company events or sources outside of the company.

When you are new and getting started, the people who train you may recommend you watch a certain video or group of videos or listen to specific audio tapes.  Be sure to do exactly what they tell you to do.  After all, these people are very likely most successful.  Chances are excellent they have the experience and know-how to be a highly valuable resource. The odds are that you will learn quite a bit of what you need to know about network marketing and hoe to do it successfully from these teachers and the training they direct you to listen or view.

You must keep your business organized.

Since, network marketing is not a job, but rather it is your new business, you must keep it well organized. Most likely when you start, you are the only one in your business.  If you are using a blog to earn income one of the best ways to keep organized is some advice that was given by one of the business leaders I know.  He said there are two important things you need to keep in mind.  First create your blog post daily and market it.  And second, do whatever it takes to maintain your business.

So each morning when you start, create your blog post for the day, and then spend some time promoting your blog post.  Promote it in the social media, through backlinks, through blog guest posts, or by re-purposing your blog post into articles that you distribute to internet article sites.

Then, you can spend some time maintaining your business.  This means that if you are having technical problems, you seek and find solutions to them.  Also, there may be some online sites that have some service you might use to make your job easier.  You should investigate these sites, and if you feel they will benefit your business, subscribe or purchase them.  In addition, maintaining means training.  You should always set aside some time each day for learning more about network marketing whether it includes: training by video; listening to audio recordings, participating webinars, reading books; and talking with a leader or expert about something you want to know about your business.  All of these are part of maintaining your business.

Yes, you are the boss and the success you will have depends of you and the work you do, and this is the reason why…
