Kindle Fire – An Owner’s Interview

Kindle Fire – An Owner’s Interview

The following is an interview and testimonial from a new owner of the Kindle Fire.  The owner is a twenty three year old girl who utilizes the Kindle Fire for entertainment while regularly traveling long distances, largely as an e-reader.  The owner is still relatively new to the Kindle Fire, but uses it regularly.

Describe your using experience with the Kindle Fire…

“I mostly use the Kindle on my way back and forth from work. I live in Hoboken, New Jersey and must commute to Pennsylvania five days a week.  The battery life is great and lasts long enough for the ride both ways with no problem.  Typically, I don’t need to charge the battery more than once in a given week.  It’s easy, and I do a lot of reading so I don’t need to worry about carrying books anymore.  The Kindle Fire is a perfect fit for me. “

What do you use the Kindle Fire for?

Mostly I use the Kindle to read books.  They’re usually under ten dollars each and sometimes they’re free.  I download them at home and then read them on the bus each morning.  Sometimes, since the bus has WiFi, I go on the internet and browse apps and books to download later, but not typically.  Mostly, I use my Kindle Fire for reading.

Which is your favorite App?

My favorite app, as cliché as it is, is the Angry Birds app.  It’s more addicting than I could have ever imagined and on particularly long trips or slow days it helps to pass the time.  Angry Birds is lots of fun and I finally understand the phenomenon.

If Amazon had to change one thing about the Kindle Fire, what would it be?

Not having internet access anywhere is a bit troubling.  Most of the time I do not mind the lack of an internet connection directly to the Kindle Fire because I am on the bus with a WiFi connection or at home so it does not matter much.  I just wish that on long drives or sitting outside I could browse the internet with my tablet.  Luckily, I don’t use the internet much to begin with so it is not important to me.

What is your favorite thing about the Kindle Fire and why?

My favorite thing about Amazon’s Kindle Fire is how small it is.  I can easily tuck it into my purse when I am at work and bring it anywhere.  On the bus I am able to relax and hold the Kindle in one hand.  It’s still pretty big and I can easily read everything on the screen but it is really nice to not have to worry about lugging a large, heavy tablet around.  I can’t imagine what it’s like for ten inch screens.

Would you recommend the Kindle Fire to others?

Absolutely.  It’s a perfect fit for me given how much travel I do each week but I can’t imagine someone who wouldn’t be able to use the Kindle Fire.
