Internet Marketers – Put This on Your ‘Honey Don’t’ List!

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

Pitch, Pitch, Pitch, that’s all I ever hear. How many of you get a whole lotta emails every day of the week. I think mine probably average about a hundred or so. I know I have been put on every list of every guru out there and, of course, some of them I actually want to hear from. It’s the ones that I get that I don’t even know where they came from that bother me. Sure I know where the unsubscribe link is, usually at the bottom of the message and now I have been seeing them at the top of the messages (way to go guys, this sure helps). But the ones that get me this most are just solid pitch!

Answer this question: Have you ever in your entire internet marketing career bought anything from anyone who just sends you one pitch after another. I can safely say that I haven’t! I am not even interested! Why? Because I don’t even know them or I have never heard of them so why should I buy from them. I know everyone has to start out some where. I know that I too had to learn starting with baby steps until I could provide something of value to my customers. So, I wanted to give you some good advice when it comes to just the pitch and nothing else…save your breath guys…they are not going to buy from you.

Here’s what you should be doing instead. Provide your customer with something of value. Give them a tip or a technique or a little advice on how to do something that they don’t already know. Use your expertise to show them how to do a YouTube video or how to set up their aweber account (Get AWeber Here). How about how to do a Google Hangout; You could make a video about that. Maybe you could show them how to make a header or give them an outline for setting up their blog. You could give useful links for free stuff that helps them with their internet marketing or blog. Heck, everyone loves free stuff, even me.

Things that don’t work are:

A. The same old PLR DVD’s that everyone else has floating around.
Instead, write an ebook or report of value that is unique that you can give away if the customer will opt-in to your list.

B. Giving them just a Pitch and nothing else then expecting them to buy.
Why not try to offer some advice on how they can achieve or accomplish something and by the way here is the product that can help you do that. (Do you get the picture?)

C. The rah, rah, rah about your product is like throwing up on them.
Try to point out one benefit about your product and write about that.

D. The scam scare tactic has been seen by all.
People are more sophisticated these days and adding the word ‘scam’ after the product name is just passé.

Give them practical advice and help them to steer away from some of the mistakes that you may have made in your journey to becoming that successful internet marketer that you had always dreamed you could be. I hope this blog helped you in some way and gave you some ideas of your own.

If you got some value from this, please share it with your friends on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Google +.

Best regards for success,
