We all have to cope with stress and any changes or events in your life can be stressful so a lot of people are looking for natural remedy for stress. It is not just about nervous tension and it is not necessarily all bad.

But can result from good things such as marriage, new baby, new job as well as a bad things like divorce, they’ve already lost one, loss of jobs or challenges at work.

Learning to respond to challenges in life is necessary to prevent a stressed state.  For a first step then is to recognise the signals because how we cope will affect how healthy we feel?

The diet, which I will deal with tomorrow, is an important factor as well.  Symptoms will be different for each person.  Muscular a stressful tension is common and tension can be in various muscles resulting in back and neck ache, headache, grinding teeth, intestinal symptoms such as bathing and irritable bowel syndrome.

Aromatherapy is a good natural remedy for stress and involves the use of essential oils during massage, or you can use drops in the bath for relaxation.  Oils such as Lavender are very relaxing and will unknott tight muscles and produces a deep feeling of wellbeing.

Osteopathy and chiropractic are forms of alternative medicines which deal with muscular skeletal disorders.  The founders Andrew Taylor Still (osteopathy) and david Daniel Palmer (chiropractic) felt that treatment should not be applied only to the bones, muscles, joints and ligaments but to other conditions such as asthma, gastric ulcers etc..

Doctors now recognise that these therapies do reduce painful symptoms and relieve back pain and muscular tension which the western world have the most time off work with.

As far as intestinal disorders are concerned I can only write with firsthand experience when I tell you I suffered with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) for five years until I drank my first bottle of Aloe Vera Gel never to suffer again as long as I drink a little each day. I’m sure it could work for you too, it is also packed with the nutrients you need to deal with stress is in your life. Leave a comment below for more info.

Yoga is a must for learning how to relax and unwind and is a natural remedy for stress, it is popular for its simplicity but intricate system of health promotion and disease prevention.

However, it is best learned through the guidance of a teacher and will unify mind, body and spirit and bring peace through inner awareness. Maybe situations won’t feel as stressful anymore.

The glandular system may show physical signs of stress through sweating, body odour and dry mouth.

Heart and lungs can show stress through pounding heart beat and palpitations.

Through the nervous system stress can produce dizziness, lethargy and affect your sleep patterns.

The mind shows stress with a lack of concentration, irritability and over reaction.

Habits such as excessive smoking, drinking, use of tranquilisers or food binging are easily identified as stress related. Obviously the underlying problem must be addressed but all of these will benefit from the natural remedies for stress from Yoga, Massage and a better diet.

Taking a thirty minute brisk walk or a regular session in the Gym is also a very good natural remedy for stress.
