How To Make Your Own Free Blog Header
As I was talking about in a previous post, How To Get People To Join You In Empower Network, I talked about packaging. Packaging is the way in which you present yourself to your readers, prospects, and anybody else who stumbles upon you.
If you have a blog, you’re going to want a customized blog header, right? Short of doing a Google search and finding the various free blog header service providers, there is one easy way to do this on your own, using software many of you already have.
You’re gonna love this part! If you have Microsoft Word or PowerPoint, you’re in business. Mac users can use Pages or Keynote as well. You can do wonders with these little buggers. Once I show you how to do it, you’ll be fast on your way to creating your very first free blog header – with your own ingenuity!
Once you’re done, just take a snapshot of it and upload it to your blog. It’s that easy. Oh yeah, you may want to know how to take a shapshot. Don’t worry, it’s another free software you can download from a trustworthy site. It’s called Jing and it’s made by Techsmith. It’s super easy to use as well and is essential to creating your free blog header in unlimited quantities on your own.
Exactly how to create a free blog header:
Your free blog header consists of three basic parts:
- The background.
- A picture, logo, or both.
- Text – your name, company name, slogan, etc.
So, let’s dive into the creation of your free blog header.
Open up Powerpoint or Keynote now.
Step 1. Creating the background. You want something that appeals to you personally. This way, you’ll attract other people with like minds. You can go with totally professional, or something off the wall if you’re a little quirky.
I guess I’m a little dark inside, because I chose a stock background (all black with black honeycomb looking stuff) from a Keynote theme and thought it was perfect. If you don’t find a theme with a background that you like, just use a picture or get a royalty free photo for real cheap. Just a few bucks kind of cheap. Drag and drop it onto your slide and you’re ready for step 2.
Step 2. Add your picture or logo. Drop the photo of your choice onto the slide which has your background. Rotate it for cool effect if you want and voila, you’re ready for step 3. Your photo should be on top of the background and ready for the text.
Step 3. Adding the text. Just open up a text box, then type in your name or company name. Add a slogan or website name and you’re pretty much there. You can play with different fonts, colors, and sizes until you’re satisfied with them. You can also play with the location such as picture on left or right side.
Once completed, you can just take a snapshot and upload it to your blog.
Congratulations, you just created your very own “free blog header” and you can tweak it as many times as you want free of charge!
