Captain Picard, Shrinks, and Super Stars
Now what does mlm network marketing have to do with a screwy title like that?
I know it sounds really crazy, but you’ll get it once you read this post.
Captain Picard, shrinks and super stars…they’re all analogies…you know, little comparisons that give you a better idea of what something is or does? I personally love analogies, and I think after reading this post you might be inspired to start using them too. Heck, they’re fun, and who doesn’t want to have more fun?
Okay, enough chit chat. Let’s get to it then.
Have you ever gotten started in a new home business and spent hours researching the company and the products and learning the right things to say and what not to say and how to do a home business party and this and that, BEFORE you ever spoke to a single soul about it?
What do they call that? Paralysis of Analysis? Yeah, I think that’s it. That, my friend, is one of the biggest mistakes a new person can make in mlm network marketing. I know, because that used to be me.
I didn’t want to waste one single chance at sponsoring someone, so I waited until I thought I had it all down perfect, and half the time I would wind up not talking to most of them anyway, because I was never ready.
And it’s the same with mlm network marketing strategies too. You watch videos and read reports and take some notes, but you never actually get started with it.
There are three important lessons here to help you experience real success in network marketing:
- Always Take Action, or as Captain Jean-Luc Picard is famous for saying in every episode of Star Trek – The Next Genreation, ENGAGE! David Wood talks about this (the taking action part, not Captain Picard) in his latest training video (which we will actually give you access to at the end of this post) – don’t wait until you understand seo and keyword analysis and keyword density and all that stuff before you start posting on your blog. Just start posting today, and work on the rest as you go along. You’ll be so far ahead of the game if you run your mlm network marketing plan this way that it just shock you.
- Listen way more than you talk. What do shrinks do for the ½ hour or hour appointment with a patient? Do they sit there and gab, or do they ask specific questions designed to get a response, and then LISTEN?!? That’s right, they listen. And then they ask more questions and then listen some more. And oh yeah, they take notes too. So start acting like a shrink in the prospecting and closing part of your mlm network marketing business, and before long, you’ll be worth way more an hour than a shrink is these days! Who knew, right?
- When you do talk, make sure it’s about What Matters to Them, not what matters to you. Now this last one is who NOT to be. Don’t act like a super star, thinking that everything revolves around you. People do NOT join your business because they think you’re cool or because your home business or product changed your life or because you hate your job and can’t wait to quit. People WILL join your business when you make it all about them. They WILL join your home business when you help them realize how it fulfills their needs and helps them live out their desires. Treat THEM like super stars, and soon enough YOU”LL be living like one.
