Season’s Greetings to all my wonderful friends and family members, I have decided to write a Blog Post on using some Best Practices for Mobile Media and Social Media in 2012. There is a great migration to the Mobile Media Platform, and we will also discuss some factual information on how big this technology is in it’s infancy. Did you know that 90% of businesses and individuals who use Social Media never see a red cent from using it and there are a ton of brands who are missing the boat on major exposure linked with consumer interaction. Too many Marketing Gurus get stuck in the implementation phase, or better put: how to use Social Media Tools and they never think about the actual Money Making Strategy.
Mobile Media is really grabbing traction around the United States, and many business owners are still not using Branding Best Practices from successful businesses in this Magma Hot Industry. All marketing tools are just tools. Facebook is an amazing tool and might be gone tomorrow. The reasons why businesses use Facebook and Mobile Media and how businesses use these technologies to expose and engage their consumers is what really makes a difference in ROI. All the Big Brands in the World are jumping into the Mobile Media Realm. Google purchased Motorola Mobility for 12.5 Billion Dollars this year because they see Mobile Media as the next Trillion Dollar a year Industry in United States.
Yes, Google (ex) CEO Eric Schmidt had been saying ‘Mobile 1st’ but lately his ‘Mobile Mobile Mobile Mania’ mantra, that Schmidt shares with all partners and corporations interested in Mobile Media is: “Put your best people on Mobile.” Why? Because Mobile Media is BY FAR, the fastest-growing Titan Industry on planet Earth. Because all major digital technologies are headed to mobile: everything from the top 13 telecoms in the world, all major Computer Companies: Apple, Google, Internet Companies: AOL, Time Warner, etc. Plus, all major media is headed to Mobile: Music Companies, Sony Gaming, All News Agencies, Every Major Television Station, Marketing and Advertising Companies. Even Financial Institutions, from coins to banking to credit cards, is headed to a phone near you, i.e. NFC (Near Field Communication). This is definitely the “Largest Shift in Wealth and Technology of our Lifetimes” and it has only begun. So how big are we talking? It is freaking huge. Lets look at the numbers.
5.2 BILLION SUBSCRIBERS
Let us first look at the biggest number – 5.2 BILLION. Yes, I said Billions with a B. There are 1.2 billion personal computers in use worldwide including desktops, laptops and tablet PCs like the iPad. There are 1.1 billion fixed land line phones. There are 1.0 billion automobiles registered and in use. There are 1.6 billion television sets, 1.7 billion credit card users, 2.0 billion Internet users, 2.2 billion people with a banking account, and 3.9 billion radio receivers in use worldwide. Mobile utterly dwarfs them all – with 5.2 billion currently active, i.e. fully paid mobile phone subscriptions. Active mobile phone accounts. 5.2 billion. yes, 4.5 times more mobile phone subscriptions than personal computers or land line phones. 2.5x more mobile accounts than all Internet users. 3 times more mobile subscribers than the total number of television sets. Mobile is huge.
There are 3 Important Steps to Crushing your Mobile-Social World.
(1.) The first thing your marketing team has to do is decide what are your short term and long term goals when using Mobile Media and Social Media. Do you need more Brand Exposure, more revenue, do you want to replace your T.V. Ads, News Paper Ads, or Billboard Ads: if your company is forking that much money out on Exposure Marketing? Make concrete goals before focusing on Mobile and Social Media.
(2.) Make sure you form a strategic partnership with a Mobile Media Company that provides training, support, make sure they have a branded Short-Code, and they must have Mobile and Social Media knowledge. Your company needs to partner with people versed in all aspects of this powerful technology. Knowing the difference between a Mobile Media Company that is a Tier 1, Tier 2, or Tier 3- National Mobile Media Connection Aggregator can have a big effect on how fast your SMS/MMS Messages go out, and how you harvest your Opt-in’s information and engage them in a Mobile Environment. One of the fastest growing Mobile Media Companies is iZigg Mobile Media Plus, iZigg Mobile Media supports carrier grade SMS & MMS capability, which Tier 2 Companies do not offer. A tier 1 company like will also allow your business to send MMS Messages (stands for Multimedia Message Service). The choice is pretty clear: iZigg, iZigg, iZigg.
(3.) Finally, once your business is registered with iZigg Mobile Media. You log onto your web-based dashboard, don’t worry it is simple, robust, and intuitive, kinda like an email dashboard. Your Business does not need to hire extra staff and there are no setup fees or contracts.
