or If it was easy everybody would be doing it.
I’ve been with Empower Network now for 3 days, I have produced three blog postings and it’s been fun. But….
There have been problems.
1. My Latest blog posts don’t appear on the front page of my blog. Now this might seem a small problem but the whole point in getting repeat visitors and the only reason somebody will come back is if I give them new content. (UPDATE: To get your latest post on the front page you must have it categorized as uncategorized)
2. Other peoples content on my page. Ok this has now been sorted I’ve managed to delegate all the content that wasn’t mine off my blog, took 5 minutes. When I did this my blogs front page appeared like I had no content even though I had posts. This has probably something to do with problem number 1.
3. At first I thought it was a major problem that Empower network promotes Dave Wood not Mat Mathias on almost everything including the top of your blog. I’m quite happy for Dave to carry on with this if it makes me money.
4. Problems uploading media. As any company who has achieved so much growth in the last month it’s not surprising that the tech comes under pressure at times. Putting videos up an using my own signature would be nice but getting paid is better and as long as this continues I’m prepared to wait for the bells and whistles.
5. Talking about the bells and whistles. I can’t find the stats for my blog. Has anybody even looked at it yet? Somebody is bound to comeback to me and tell me it’s been in front of my face all the time. Now I know I can use Google analytics for this but a one stop shop would be nice.
Knowing the above problems would I have signed up? The answer would probably been no, but that would have been a mistake as the truth is that the benefits far outweigh the problems with Empower Network. Let me explain.
The training took me two hours and at the end of this I was pumped up enough to get going. To make Empower Network work for you the lay out a few simple steps that you must follow. I’m not going to list them all but here is what i consider the most important.
1. Blog daily – It doesn’t matter what about, just blog. Quality doesn’t matter by blogging daily your blog posts will improve and blogging will turn into a habit. Habits formed over 30. 60 90 days don’t get broken easily and once you learn this lesson you can take the 30 day habit forming exercise to other parts of your life.
2. Listen to self improvement tapes, videos MP3s, It’s recommended you do an hour a day. At first I thought I’m too busy to find an extra hour a day. Well the truth is I did an audit of my time. And there are some things that don’t bring any positive benefits to my life. I don’t need to watch the news 3 times a day in fact most news sources are so negative that the only thing they contribute is negativity. (Idea for another blog entry) This time could be spent listening to personal development tapes. I’m getting though a lot of task around the house that needed doing but I didn’t have the time. I’ve fixed our wood block floor just by asking myself what physical activity can I do while listening? Try it out yourself… It’s amazing what opportunities you can find to improve yourself.
3. Read – I’m not a massive reader of books as I’m a bit obsessive with them, if I pick up a book I need to finish it. When I’m on holiday or vacation as you say in the States I’ll read and read and read. The good thing The Guys at Empower Network don’t insist you read books so I get my daily fix of reading from blogs and forums. I now have a list of blogs and forums I read daily. Not only does this improve my knowledge it also gives me ideas for my blogs. The main benefit of reading blogs and forums it gives you an opportunity to post comments and posts, and by becoming a respected.
Finally my recommendation is “Just do it”
I’d be honoured to get help you in everyway I can to make your Empower Network blog a success.
