Why Blog

The value of blogging can be immense depending on why you decided to write a blog in the first place. If you don’t have a reason to write it, then it serves no real purpose and has no value. That makes sense, doesn’t it? Well, it sort of makes sense. If you wrote a blog for no real reason and at some point in your life you became a person people were interested in learning about, your blog will have value. So even if you started your blog just to journal your thoughts, it can have value to someone someday.
Why Blog – Why I Blog?
I hope that my blog gives people something of value. Things to think about and things to do. A direction of sorts. I blog mainly about things that beginning on-line marketers should know about. My last two blogs while called something else were really about what is called Attraction Marketing which basically means how to talk to people in a way that they want to come back for more. I started this blog on August 28, 2012 and was not sure where I was going to go with it. I can basically write about anything and maybe one day I will
For now though, my main purpose is still to give people value in the area of online marketing. So why blog? To help others learn something that they may not be aware of yet.
Why Blog – What Are Other People Writing About?
Why blog? I actually have another blog, you can find it here. The purpose of that blog is to give value to people who want to get in shape. It is a health and fitness blog and I am a Beachbody coach. I had a third blogs (which was actually my first) that was put together when my mother was very ill. The purpose of that blog was to share information in one place about how she was doing so everyone who that wanted to know could find out and I wouldn’t be on the phone all the time. It was a pretty successful blog while I was posting to it. My mother has since passed away so the need for that blog had passed to.
Some people use blogs to build a business, share news with family and friends, teach people about something that interests them or just to journal. My daughter makes cards for the military personnel to write home on. She has a blog about what she is doing and how she does it. Some people have blogs and don’t write on them, they shoot videos instead. One person who I know has a goal to post a video a day until he passes away. His reason is so his children and grandchildren will know and remember him. He talks about everything under the sun and how he feels about it. He has a big following and his video blogs gets hundreds of hits a day.
Why Blog – Did You Know it Can Help Your Health?
This is a true statement! It can help your health. The following comes from Scientific America:
“Self-medication may be the reason the blogosphere has taken off. Scientists (and writers) have long known about the therapeutic benefits of writing about personal experiences, thoughts and feelings. But besides serving as a stress-coping mechanism, expressive writing produces many physiological benefits. Research shows that it improves memory and sleep, boosts immune cell activity and reduces viral load in AIDS patients, and even speeds healing after surgery. A study in the February issue of the Oncologist reports that cancer patients who engaged in expressive writing just before treatment felt markedly better, mentally and physically, as compared with patients who did not.”

Why Blog? Because it can be therapeutic, who knew?? I didn’t until I started this blog. See my other blog is a business. I give free information and free coaching to people who want to get healthy and fit and in exchange I sell them Beachbody products to do it with. I have to say at this point that I am a product of the Beachbody products and they work!! I still have a way to go but so far so good. You can read about that here. With all that said, I have to research a lot to write a blog post on that blog. I am an IT Manager, I am not schooled in the health and fitness field, I am a participant in it but the details need research.
Why Blog – You Never Know Who Is Reading Your Stuff
It’s true, you don’t. When you blog anyone can find you and read it (unless you do it as private.) You may have 4 readers or you may have 4000. Some will comment, some won’t. There are ways of finding out how many are reading on a given day. Tools have been created to give you that information. But you don’t know who it is, where they live or even which country they live in.
One thing I can tell you is blogging can be fun. I really enjoy writing this one because I don’t have to research everything. What I tell you here is fairly common knowledge with people in online marketing. It mainly comes from my head and flows out through my fingers.
You can still write about anything you want and make money doing so. Not bad, right?!?! So why blog? I say Why Not Blog! If you are looking to do that, watch the video on the right side of the page and you will get more information on how it works!
The real answer to why you should blog basically is within you and you alone. Only you can determine your why for blogging or your blogs purpose.
Happy Blogging!!
