How To Find Blog Topics
As a blogger it is not uncommon to have a day (or days) when you are stumped and it is hard to find blog topics. This happens to all bloggers at some point. So don’t let it have you thinking that you are not a good blogger because you cannot come up with a
topic. I find that not having a topic (or keyword) is the hardest part of blogging. Once I have one the words just seem to flow. So I want to share with you some of the way you can find blog topics.
How To Find Blog Topics – Let’s Count The Ways
1. Google Alerts is a good way. You set an alert with some keywords and have them send you stories on a daily basis. Delete the ones that you don’t like and store the ones you do for future use.
2. Read your competitors blogs and see what they are writing about. You can create a similar topic and write your own twist of the blog. When you do this do not copy and paste their content into your blog – that is stealing.
3. Think about your readers, what obstacles do they have? What bothers them or keeps them up at night? Try to solve their problems in a blog.
4. Talk about one of your mistakes and how you overcame it. Readers like to read about other peoples struggles and can relate to it if they are having the same issue.
5. Write a book or product review.
6. Read the questions that are being asked on social media. If you can answer the question you have a blog post.
7. Have a guest blogger write a post on your blog. This is a good way to get content when you can’t find blog topics.
8. Take a poll – ask your readers what they would like to know.
9. Have a debate – when you hear or read something you disagree with write a blog debating both sides of the issue.
10. Use Google Trends to find what is trending that you can fit into your blog.
How To Find Blog Topics – How I Deal With It
I do the things listed above but when that doesn’t work I have a couple of other ways to find blog topics.
I go to sites that have lists, like Amazon and search for books I’ve read. If you don’t remember the book you can read the reviews to refresh your memory. They always give a pretty good description of the book. You can also search for product reviews.
I listen to audios. If you listen to personal development audios you can get inspiration and find blog topics. When the audio draws you in and gets you to thinking hard about what they are saying, you can write a blog about that topic.
I am very fortunate because I am in Empower Network and the training has a lot of audios and videos that spark ideas for blogging content. The mind gets caught up in the golden gems that come out of them. One training product called the Inner Circle has 44 different audios that have to do with marketing. Since my blog is mainly about marketing and mindset, the audios make it easy for me to find blog topics.
So if you need to find blog topics, try the tools in this blog post. I have written consistently for almost two months now and have only missed a few days because of a family crisis. I realize that doesn’t seem like a long time but I am full of ideas for this blog. The reason is I have a passion for the subject this blog centers around. I have another blog and was always struggling to find blog topics.
To your blogging success!!
