When I first joined Empower Network almost a month ago, I tried to post a link from my Empower Network on my Facebook marketing page. It was denied as being spammy. I tried again thinking it must have been a mistake. Of course I got the same result. I couldn’t believe it. I’m with other marketing companies and while Empower Network is structured a bit differently, I didn’t find that it was so different that it should be considered spam or a scam!
Empower Network Spam
I asked around and was given a way to get around it. The plan worked but I still felt that something was very wrong. I soon found out that Facebook shut down the Empower Network group on Facebook.
Empower Network – Better Business Bureau
The top people in Empower Network suggested we take our complaints to the Better Business Bureau. I contacted Facebook but had never received an answer. I told them that this was my blog and I saw others posting links to their blog. I asked why they were able to and I wasn’t. They never responded. So I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau basically saying what I just said. They sent the complaint off to Facebook, who answered that it was spam and their decision was final. The Better Business Bureau considered it a closed case. Empower Network lost this one!
Empower Network – Advertising
I did create and run a PPC advertisement on Facebook. I’ve seen others run as well. It didn’t do so good so I didn’t keep it running for long. I started joining co-op advertising and everything went well. I received my leads and my emails about my leads. I was growing my list.
Yesterday, the email from one of the places I was using to advertise started going into my spam folder. I didn’t look there because it never went there. I told the contact for the ad that I was skipped. He looked and saw my leads so I double checked my email. There they were in spam. The lead emails are going into spam from all sources now. I tell the system that it isn’t spam but it isn’t changing.
I learned today that Empower Network links (ads) can’t be used on Craigslist ads anymore. Why, because they are spam. I also learned that some advertising places will not take an ad that links to Empower Network. They have to link to a page you own off of Empower Network. Oy vey, give me a break!!
Empower Network – Email
Today I placed another ad and had to email them the link to my capture page. I went to do it on my main email account at verizon.net. This is where all the lead email comes into. I clicked on send, got a warning that there were spelling errors (the link itself) and told it to send it anyway. It got blocked . . . why? You guessed it . . . spam.
I ended up sending it from gmail.com.
Why Empower Network??
There is nothing legal going on to say that Empower Network is spam or a scam. I find it very aggravating that Facebook labeled it as such (probably from a few over zealous marketers) and now advertising and email is labelling it as such also. I sent a request to verizon.net to unblock it but I doubt anything will come of it.
I thought we lived in a world of free speech, the right to advertise. We are not talking about porn, illegal drugs, prostitution or any of the sort. We are talking about a network marketing company. What are these companies so afraid of? Why do I have to defend my right to work in the occupation of my choosing? My work relies on the internet. When everyone shuts my company down, for no real reason or stated reason (nobody has said why or how they determined that Empower Network is spam) only the little people get hurt. We are small business owners who pay our taxes and who decided to market on the internet.
Is Empower Network Spam Summary
All of the above hurts my pocket. Anyone can relate to that. I place ads, people choose to click on them, then they choose to purchase a ready to go blog. It is their choice. I did not spam or scam them. We are losing our right to free speech, our right to earn a living and our right to decide to click on an internet ad if we choose to. All of this is being done because somehow, for some unknown reason, someone decided that Empower Network was spammy.
This makes me angry . . . and determined. My determination to succeed in Empower Network only grows as this denial grows. This just means that we have to be creative in our marketing. Marketing Empower Network and growing my business isn’t impossible – it just is inconvenient.
