Sri Lanka Tour Ideas

How do you have a great Sri Lanka tour ?

Well you may want to take one or more of a wide selection of tours available in Sri Lanka from a couple of hours in a Tuk-Tuk sight seeing to a 2 or 3 day tour.

Don’t worry you don’t have to take a Tuk-Tuk for that, air conditioned vehicles are provided for these. Some of you will even want to take longer a Sri Lanka tour, this country is vast with plenty to see.

Some Sri Lanka tour ideas for you….
The Royal Botanic Gardens are a delight for anyone interested in all types of plants, from trees to orchids. You can take a guided tour of the gardens or just wonder around the gardens yourself.

Spend a couple of hours at the world famous Elephant Orphanage.

Visit a Silk factory. See and learn how silk is produced. A great way to spend an hour or two.

Buddhist Temples are all over Sri Lanka, from small private temples, (you should ask permission before you visit), to the large 17th century ‘Temple of the Tooth’ in Kandy. A stunning sight. An experience not to be missed.

Spend a couple of hours at Galle Fort or a whole day. There is a museum where you can learn about this county’s history. Just to walk around the fort will take a couple of hours. You can do as much or as little as you want.
We spent about an hour walking along the walls of the fort. About an hour in the museum with a guide is a great way to find out more about the history of Sri Lanka.

Tea factories tours provide an insight into this fascinating world of the production of Ceylon tea.

The Turtle Farm just outside of Hikkaduwa is a wonderful place, turtle eggs are hatched, the turtles transferred to tanks, 1 day, 2 day and 3 day old turtles are looked after then released into the sea. Injured turtles are also cared for, being released back into the ocean when they are well enough. A guide talks you though the process explaining all you want to know about these beautiful creatures.

For a different Sri Lanka Tour why not try shopping.

Sri Lanka Tour

Well you would not think of shopping on your Sri Lanka tour but why not. The locals can show you the best places to find a bargain or two. From clothing shops where the garments are all hand made to department stores where the locals go to do their shopping.
