7. Do I see my role as having direct responsibility for the care and development of my team?

6. Do I express my confidence and commitment to my team and the organization by appropriately “pushing back” or challenging ideas, practices and programs that I believe will be detrimental to the effectiveness of the group?

5. Do I truly believe that “I always have a choice” and that I am responsible for my choices or do I believe “they are in charge and I have no power”?

4. Do I respect and seek out conflicting opinions and ideas to expand my thinking and perspectives or do I stick to my tried and true methods of getting things done?

3. Do I put myself in another’s position or circumstances to truly understand “where they are coming from” or do I take their words and actions at face value and judge them accordingly?

2. Do I coach the team to allow them to reach their own insights, create their own solutions thereby improving their thinking and developing their skills or do I believe it is better and faster just to tell employees what to do based on my experience?
