What kind of decision maker are you?

As human beings we make decisions all the time affecting our life and well-being.

Successful people are making decisions quickly. Once the decision has been made they will only go back and change the decision they made, if at all, very slowly.

People that procrastinate are slow at making decisions. They are quick to change their mind after making a decision and are generally unsuccessful people.

Informed Decision Maker

The informed decision maker makes their decision based on information that has been gained though experience or council from peers and trusted friends and colleagues.

Rash Decision Maker

The rash decision maker makes their decisions on a whim from no basis of any kind of informed information.

Successful people may seem too, and do make decisions quickly however they are informed decisions and not rash decisions.

A person that makes rash decisions tends to be influenced by the opinions of others.

Let me explain the difference. Both types of decision maker are listening to the opinions or council of others.

The rash decision maker makes their decision based not from an informed perspective or from council but from the opinions of others. There is a huge difference between seeking an opinion or seeking council.

When bad decisions have been made it is mostly the rash decision maker who has made the bad decision because of the lack of council.

A successful person will take a decision after making a decision analysis and then makes a final decision that will not be changed unless it turns out to be a bad decision and even then they will analyse whether the correct course of action is to make a change to their original decision.

We all need to make tough decisions the question is do you take council or opinion.
