Why am I here?

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

Today is a new day.  I started with a team of exciting people.  People that are excited about helping other people succeed.  People that are passionate about life and people that are driven with a purpose.

I am here because when I look at what I’m doing every day, I want to do more.  I want to be the type of person that helps others.  I want to wake up every day and look forward to what the day brings and what the opportunities might be that I’ll encounter.  When I wake up, I want to feel alive.

What I see with this group of people is exactly that.  I see people encouraging others to keep moving in the direction of their dreams and not giving up of some type of obstacle is encountered.  Being part of a group like this wakes me up and pushes me out of bed.  Can it do that for you?

There are a lot of concerns out on the work place right now and people are struggling.  Families are struggling to make ends meet.  Workers are walking out or being escorted out of a place of employment and they may have been there for several years.  The fear of the economy keeps others up at night.  The stock market and gold prices waver back and forth.  The conversation in politics about a ‘financial cliff’ alone is a scary thought.  A cliff is scary enough, but to call it a financial cliff really puts fear in people.  Where is the good stuff that motivates people, that pushes them to do good things?  Where is the passion and the love of life?  What has happened to the exciting times where no matter what, we’d make it through?  Where is that message?

I want this content to inspire people.  To make people think about the good things.  I want to make people want to come back to read good stories.  Stories that make them happy, smile and feel good about the world around us.  To do that, there needs to be a reason to read on and a reason to want to come back. I believe that positive, up lifting, inspirational stories make for more entertaining content.  That’s what I want to post here, and that’s what I want readers to come back to read about.

If you’re having a day where you need some good news, I want to be that place where you’ll find it.  A place where you can come and hear about the good that’s going on in the world, rather than tuning into Fox News to hear how the world should have ended on 12/21/2012, or about the latest place of a car bomb.  Lets instead focus on how many people we can get to share good stories that put smiles on people’s faces and a fire in their heart for good.  More good things happen every day than bad, so let’s tip the scales upside down on the news world and talk about all those good things, and good people every day!

Tell me below where you get your ‘good’ news.
